Found a deal? Here's the place to share it!

I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday! I am looking forward to teaching a group of employees at an insurance agency in Cary during lunch today.

Patterson Place Kroger (maybe other Krogers too) Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic sunscreens BOGO free! AND $2.00 off 1 coupons stuck to most of them. Made the total for 2 a little under $5.00!! GREAT deal for sunscreen, especially these brands. I got the spray Banana Boat sunscreen, and then the after tan shimmer Hawaiian Tropic lotions. Also in the same aisle, closeout on Colgate Total toothpaste (toothbrush attached) for $1.85. Down in the seasonal aisle they still have a cart full of the Velveeta Mac&Cheese microwavable cups for .25 cents a piece. New coupon pullies throughout the store too! :)

langley - it's true, HT has the industries best employees, and it's by design! No other chain compares across the board to all levels of customer service.

Today while standing at CS to get rainchecks (didn't find any of the free items, as expected LOL), all of a sudden someone was rubbing my shoulders from behind and saying "We really love our customers and do what we can for them" and it was the manager LOL I had quite a chat with him the night before about the struggle with some unfriendly and abusive customers concerning coupon policy.

I looked at him and told him and the CS associate that it's just flat out true, HT is simply the best. That when I walk in that store, I feel like I'm at a friends house. How often can you say that about most businesses you frequent?

A great big thank you to my favorite HT's-Edwards Mill & Falls of the Neuse/Spring Forest Rd. Those cashiers are great. One cashier was more excited about my 76% savings than I was; then I got excited and forgot the PIN # to my debit card. ALL of the cashiers I worked with went above and beyond and even told me they loved SD's because they were couponing too! P. S. I have never seen so many coupon binders in my life in one store.

*waving at Faye* - thanks! Glad to be back, except this weather, heat and high humidity and pop up storms LOL

Oh, the stories I heard today about "new" and very brash couponers from my favorite cashier at HT :(

~sigh~ I told her to take pics and names and I'll find these heathens and straighten them out - heh heh heh

But seriously, the stories would make you shake your head! I hate what that *show that shall not be named* has started. It has brought out the worst in people and the poor cashiers and store managers ... it's making them hate their jobs.

Ventured to the Rocky Mt. Target today and scored some pretty good deals: Crayola Sand Explosion marked down from 14.99 to 3.74 minus $2 coupon that was due to expire on Thursday-great way to stock my gift box for those last minute kids parties. They also had long sleeved women's shirts for $2.50 which was a great price and several styles of womens jeans for $4.98. Not such good luck at the HT-out of mostly everything I was looking to get, didn't bother with a rain check b/c we live too far away from one to really worry about it for a next time.

"when my hubby and kids eat the meals I have made them and then are ASTONISHED when I tell them how little we paid for each item." - thinking

It's a habit of a good couponer to ALWAYS remember what we paid for things LOL - and we can't help but say things like "oh, did you know what that cost?" :)

You will forever be proud of how little your dinner or lunch or breakfast you make costs.

In fact, I did it today at lunch when I told hubby what our lunch cost LOL - he's kind, he listens and smiles and says "that's a deal" - in other words, after a couple decades of this behavior, he continues to humor me LOL

Ahhhh, we can't help ourselves, we're proud of our savings!

I have never used the foodlion coupons online you can load to your MVP card... I use the EVIC ones all the time... but just curious... i can see on the screen when they deduct my evic coupons... my food lion doesnt have those nice screens... Does it print on the receipt?? I just want to make sure they go through

I was in HT today to get some last minute double sales and was approached by a woman who wanted to know where I got my plastic baseball card inserts for my coupon notebook. I told her I got them through Yahoo Freecycle. I simply put out a "wanted" note, similar to Craigslist, and within 2 days I had 80 sheets and a notebook. Here is the link for the FREE cycle site.
Let me know if anyone needs additional help. No sense in buying them. They are too hard to find. Good Luck.

Faye, Nancy, and everyone else-THANK YOU so much for everything you do to help us save money. I am a stay-at-home mom so we need to make sure that we get the best deal when we shop. It makes my heart happy when my hubby and kids eat the meals I have made them and then are ASTONISHED when I tell them how little we paid for each item. It's so nice that this is a blog where we are like a community, just trying to help each other and lift each other up. Anway-thanks!

Thanks for posting so many deals today, everyone! I was teaching and otherwise swamped so no time to play on the blog. I appreciate that all of you shared your deals!

Nancy - WELCOME BACK! I agree with you regarding our new poster from NY - not at all interested in being a positive contributing member of this blog. I am hoping he/she tires of not being helpful and finds another blog to troll. ;-) In the meantime - I agree with your assessment to ignore future posts.
