Thank you for all the suggestions! I'm going to try to slow cook it in the oven, then make the pulled pork. The family can help themselves to the SmartOnes I picked up at HT last week - ha! I have so much Kraft bbq sauce, I feel obligated to use it up, but I would eventually like to try the Sweet Ray's because happy2.0 isn't the first one to tell me how yummy it is ;)

Penguin display reference with picture here

I got the same list of items in my Fresh Rewards email plus it had Landshark or Corona 12 pack bottles for $9.88

For the Pork Boston Roast I like to cook it in the slow cooker with some liquid smoke, celery salt, garlic salt and onion powder then I add bbq sauce towards the end. It taste really good!

The Penguin Coupon display is a cardboard penguin that holds several valuable frozen food coupons. Oxymoron reported a display at Lowe's Foods, so I'm going to keep a lookout at mine. They're usually good for a month or two and these have worked well with Super Doubles at HT.

What is a penguin coupon display?

  • skkdouble Jun 10, 2011

How about Sweet and Sour Pork? I am going to do that in the crock pot.

Look at the Corona Display, they had a pack of coupons that included a $10.00 rebate when you purchase $10.00 worth of meat(including pork) Have a wonderful weekend.

I popped in to Lowes last night because my daughter alerted me to a penguin coupon display. At check-out (I needed milk anyway), a $5 off $50 coupon printed. It had printed for the person ahead of me too. It's good Friday-Sunday. I suspect it's printing for everyone. You can pop in and try. I might try getting $50 in meat this weekend if the prices are really good.

RE: Boston B*tt. I'm a Boston native, and my Mom always made them into "boiled dinner." "Stick it in a pot and boil it" as an ex of mine used to refer to the general cooking style of New England, is not terribly time consuming and can be very yummy. You can even do it in the crock if you have one big enough. Day old cold b*tt is, IMO, VASTLY superior to hot and fresh. Boil all day, IIRC, add potatoes, cabbage heads quarted and carrots (other root veggies if that's your thing) later in the day so they don't turn to mush. Leftover veg should me mashed and pan fried to eat with cold b*tt. Mmm, veg hash.

Smoke it on the grill and make sandwiches. Yum!

I picked up the roast, eggs and lettuce - does anyone know what to do with a pork b*#@ roast? I was going to make pulled pork, but I'm the only one in the house who'll eat it.

And no penguin yet at LF Holly Springs.
