Wednesday weigh-in!

Here we are in week 11 of the Weight Loss Challenge and I am so impressed with everyone's totals and exercise habits!  It's hard to lose weight under any circumstances, but many of  you have full-time jobs, kids, sick infants and other conflicts that make it hard to get to the gym, take a walk and make the conscious effort to eat right.  I want to thank you all for helping to motivate me each week as I inch closer to my goal each day. 

This week I lost 1 lb and 8 ounces (yes, I am now actually keeping track of those ounces! LOL) for a total loss of 23 lbs since the challenge started on March 9! I am 2 lbs from my goal for this challenge (although I will probably shoot for losing a few extra since I have plenty of time before my reunion). 

Challenges this week: the heat - now that the heat has kicked in, I have to walk really early in the day or late in the evening, which doesn't always work with the schedule.  I am just too old to be exercising in 96 degree heat!

What worked: Keeping focused on what I ate and not going for seconds at the dinner table. I am also still making an effort to not eat after dinner unless I am actually hungry. No snacking just to snack. It's not easy....

Looks like it is just about time for lunch: Veggie burger on 1 piece of whole wheat bread with green leaf lettuce and bruschetta (no mayo).  Side of carrots.

Did anyone watch the Biggest Loser finale last night? Wow - the sisters looked so amazing in those dresses!

    Hey I don't mind taking one for the team. LOL But, boy....this 90+ heat...let's just say...the ice cream is 'melting' off.

    Way to go happymomma! We are so on the same wavelength with this challenge! Let's shoot for the 25 lbs lost mark for next Wednesday - deal? I say this knowing that I have 3 events to enjoy this weekend and all involve meals. Let's just say it will be a miracle if I lose 2 lbs this week.

    IMHO - that's definitely a great sign - when things start to fit better. Sounds like you are on the right track!

    Marybeth - you are now officially banned from the weight loss thread! LOL ;-)

    J - "Postponed discipline" - really does sound so impressive. I know what you mean about men and losing weight - it always seems so easy for them.

    Total - that is so kind of you to take the lbs. I guess it has to go somewhere. It sounds like marybeth is happy to help you with those brownies and ice cream!

    Faye.. thank you. I love going to the church to do Zumba because my daughter can join in as well. If she doesn't want to she can sit on the bleachers. No babysitter required!!1

    I still maintaining my weight (ugghh!!) but I can tell a difference in my body composition when I put my bathing suit on this week for a trip to the lake. It fits much better than last year and another suit I couldn't where last year fits. I attribute this to doing 30 minutes of cardio at least 5-6 days a week over the past 3-4 weeks and working on toning with my personal trainer 3 x's a week. I'm doing better on my eating habits using sparkpeople.com and can see where I still need to make improvements. The weight is going to eventually begin to budge - at least that is what my trainer tells me! I sure hope she is right!

    good job, faye, et al! i have not fallen off the wagon completely, but i have postponed discipline (wow, that sounds like i just made up a big phrase to describe a defense mechanism!)...a lot going on the last month or so. BUT with vacation and still my impending reunion coming up, hubby's going to join me soon to do it together. i keep telling him that's not quite fair b/c dudes lose weight different than the chicas, but i will probably do it anyway. ;) so soon, hopefully i will have more good news to report.

    I gained 1 pound but shrank 1 inch (go figure) I have been doing more weight stuff recently so I'm hopeing its muscles. I went shopping at lunch today (clothes since I"m stocked up at HT from last week) and bought a really cute little black dress!

    With the ice cream I just got and the brownies from triples...I'm sure to find a couple more.
