Food Lion is coming in strong this week with grilling and party essentials deals including corn at 6 ears for $1, peaches for $1.29/lb, chicken breasts for $1.77/lb, Breyers ice cream for $1.62 after sale and coupon, hot dog buns for .79 and more!

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double.

Sweet! I misread it the first time! Thanks for clarifying it! Aslo, the coupon for Breyer's from Facebook expires Saturday, so if you get it, be sure you go before then!

  • Trickat May 26, 2011

knowles...the deal is if you buy $35 worth, you get $10 off. Buy $20 worth, get $5 off. Southern Savers reports that the total is computed by original price (before sales/coupons.)

If you have this promotion in your area, there could be some huge savings - especially if you can do more than 1 deal;)

  • knowles7806 May 26, 2011

The Unilever deal states you have to buy $35 in participating products to get the $5 off. I'm not in the Raleigh area, so I don't know if your sales paper had the promotion in it, but the one in my local paper did. I'm going later to see if it works here.

  • Trickat May 26, 2011

It didn't work for me either, but I just e-mailed fl c/s with the link to the ad:

I'll just wait and see, but Faye is right, it is a great deal regardless!

UPDATE: The $5 off instantly is NOT for the Raleigh market. I went to Food Lion this morning and when the $5 did not come off at the register I asked the cust serv manager. She knew exactly what I was talking about and said that the promo was not available in the Raleigh market. She was very nice about it and I was impressed that she was able to tell me the reason it wasn't working. Obviously I wasn't impressed that the Raleigh market didn't get this deal and other Food Lion markets did, but, in the end the total for 4 containers was only $3.97 (.99 each!) - a fabulous price for Breyers. My store only had 2 flavors of the Breyers Blasts - cookie dough and chocolate something (it looked too chocolately for me so I got the cookie dough). The ice cream cones are also on sale for .99 so a good deal all around for those hot summer days when the kids get out of school.

    thanks again Nancy!

It is possible the Breyers ice cream deal gets even better. Here is more info Brittney posted on the Facebook page. She says to buy 4 containers and use 2 coupons:
"Get 4. Get $5 off instantly breyers icecream is a unilever product. Ice cream on sale for $1.99. You pay less than just tax. I just paid $.12 for 4 tubs of ice cream!!!"

I am trying it Thursday am after I drop the kids off at school. I'll let you know!

Thanks for the link to the Breyers coupon ccubtam - I just added it to the post above.

Sorry about the typo - just fixed it. :-)

Thanks for the pasta update tmsellers!

  • Nancy May 25, 2011

tmsellers, yup, I think FL is the only one that carries the Marcal paper products out of the grocery stores.

Staples carries it too, but of course it's the bulky office size packages, no deal there :)

Went to FL today the Ronzoni pasta was 5/$5 this included the smart taste & garden ones the quick cook were regular price. I got 2 Garden delight Ronzoni pastas for FREE use my $1 q's.

Also the BOGO Heinz ketchup is the 40oz which is $3.29 reg price so with the .50 q it would be $1.14 each.

I was pleased that FL carried the marcel small step products and I was able to use the $1 q I had to get single roll paper towels for .19 and 4pk toilet paper for .49
