Wednesday weigh-in!

It's time to face the scale! Let's hear it - how did you do this week on the weight loss challenge?

I lost 2 lbs this week bringing my total since the challenge started to 21.5 lbs lost! Only 3.5 lbs left to meet the goal of this challenge which is to lose 25 lbs.  I'm giving myself 2 weeks to meet the goal. Let's hope I don't have any chocolate incidents along the way....

I walked 4 days this week and stuck to the healthy eating plan pretty well.  I find myself really kicking it in on Monday and Tuesday each week knowing that I have to get on that scale on Wednesday and report in. Anyone else feel that way?

If you are new to the Wednesday weigh-in, a number of us are doing a 25 lb. weight loss challenge. Even if you only have 5 or 10 lbs to lose or you have 50 lbs to lose, please join in! It's never too late to start taking better care of yourself. As we all know, it's more frugal to be healthy than to deal with all the medical issues (and medical bills) associated with obesity.

    I watched that fathead documentary too! It was very interesting. He kept pushing that it wasn't just calories in/out but what kind of calories you were eating. He ate very few carbs, had just fast food, and lost a ton of weight. Unfortunately, doing coupons does not lend itself to a low carb diet!

    Congrats, IMHO! 3 lbs is great in one week! When I worked out with a trainer a few years ago, he also said I needed to eat more because I was working out so much. Considering you lost 3 lbs, I would say the weight is definitely coming off and your training is working.

    If I was working out as much as you, I would be eating more as well.

    I agree that it's not just about the numbers on the scale. Inches and body fat are also key markers of success.

    I am down 3 lbs from last week which takes me back to my starting weight after gaining 3 lbs. The bigger deal is that after only 2 weeks I am already seeing a definite difference in my core from working out with my personal trainer for 30 minutes 3x's a week plus doing cardio at least 5x's a week. Even my hubby has noticed!!! It really is not the # of the scale that we should hang on to but our body fat and how are clothes hang and feel on us! I am still struggling with the amount of calories my trainer wants me to eat daily -- at least 1800 -- since the weight is not coming off. She keeps telling me to give her 4-5 weeks and that will all change. I'm impatient but I am trying hard to listen to her.

    wralfan - you are almost there! That's great to make it to lifetime status with ww - and even better that it becomes FREE! :-)

    I do the same thing you do - if I get hungry I eat veggies or fruit. I usually peel and cut a whole lb of carrots and stick them in a big ziploc bag in the fridge so I always have healthy munch food on hand for a few days. It's also great for the kids because if the carrots are ready to eat they grab them much more often as a snack.

    LOLOLOL, marybeth! That was too funny! Love the reach and stretch!

    That Athenos organic honey FREE yogurt is really good. Hubby gave me a bite of his at lunch and its tasty.

    Dinner was delicious:

    1 piece Palermo's cheese pizza (1/8 of the pizza)on sale at Lowes Foods last week: 160 calories and 6.5 gr fat

    Bowl of steamed baby carrots (on sale at Lowes Foods last week for .88/lb with fresh rewards weekend deals) with fat free Bestlife spray butter (free at super doubles a couple months ago): 50 calories, no fat

    1/2 piece Guiltless Gourmet Banana Cream Pie with spoon of lite Cool Whip: 80 calories, 3 gr fat

    Total for dinner: 290 calories and 9.5 gr of fat

    What I love most is that I didn't have to make a separate meal for me. I ate what everyone else ate, just less of it. I'm not full, but I'm not hungry. If I get hungry again tonight I will have some more baby carrots, some whole wheat pretzels or a spoonful of cottage cheese.

    Heck yeah ... HT power walk shopping definately counts! Not to mention the reach and stretch to get items off the shelf and into the cart ... pushing the extra weight of kids and stuff in the cart ... unexpected desperate sprints to grab the last free athenos yogurt BEFORE someone else does ... lol ... balancing those massive coupon binders and loading kids and bags into car and then house. Whew ... after all that I am all about some 50 cent Betty Crocker Supreme brownies!

    Huzzah to all the shrinking people. May your excess pounds not land on my thighs. :D

    I watched an interesting documentary, again, with my husband recently. It is a rebuttal of sorts to "Supersize Me" and a very interesting take on weight loss called "Fathead." Guy ate nothing but fast food for 30 days, and lost weight. Go figure.

    I am now wondering how you could have grown big before!! I am saying this cause you are not drinking coffee/tea/milk/soda... and you can control yourself with 1200 to 1400 cal a day.
    In My case I will be loading with milk based coffee or tea or yogurt. Then I will be always hungry hungry if I do this 1200 to 1400 cal a day thing. I need to stuff myself with raw veggies or fruitsto feel full. THe day wont continue otherwise.
    Anyway I am down again by 1 pound almost close to 10 pounds from the time I started ww. So if I am down by another 4 pounds then I am in lifetime status with ww and should be relieved as the program becomes free. So my target will be July onwards ww should be free. ww - weight watchers.
    I do walk a lot and workout too but I end up with weekend food which goes out of control. Either I should hit a mall for teh entire day which I cannot do now due to kids EOC's EOG's

    Breakfast today: 6 oz fat free Dannon strawberry yogurt, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1/2 banana, crushed ice. Blend it all with hand-held blender. Soooo tasty!

    Lunch: Although I want another yogurt smoothie, I think I am opting for a mushroom veggie burger on 1 piece of whole wheat bread with fresh spinach and some garlic/black olive bruschetta. I have a bruschetta problem I think - but it's very low cal and no fat - guess there's no problem after all!

    What are you all having for lunch today?

    That is hyterical, pss! You would think that with all that dragging that you would have lost some extra weight! LOL Did you at least have a good time during your descent off the wagon?

    Great job on the 90 minute workout! The most I can get in is 45 minutes at a time it seems, but I'll take it.

    Soooooo glad to hear the little man is eating better now.

    Oh, yeah - the Ballpark search definitely counts!
