Harris Teeter triples and ad deals 5/18!

Posted May 18, 2011

The HUGE news this week is that Harris Teeter is tripling coupons for the first time in a year! There are lots of great deals tripling those coupons so let's have some fun!

Below is the list of weekly deals as well as a triples coupons good deals list courtesy of the awesome folks at www.HotCouponWorld.com! Links to the printable coupons from the HCW triples list can be found HERE.

Coupon policy during Triple Coupons:

* HT begins tripling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not triple coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has worked in the past).

* HT will triple coupons worth up to .99 face value. A .75 coupon will triple to $2.25. A $1.00 coupon will not triple at all and will only be taken at face value ($1.00).

* HT will triple up to 20 coupons per day. Period. End of story. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day.

* HT policy is to triple up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five .75 coupons for a product, the policy is to only triple the first three.

(Here is my continuation of the post below - read it first)

So - before everyone gets bent out of shape and makes strong accusations, remember that there are MANY new couponers out there and it is my job to help them understand the policies in a helpful and respectful manner. I request the same from all of you.

Jenncurlee - you seem to really want to follow the policies and I really think this was just a mistake. Lesson learned, no harm done, etc....

As I mentioned in the other post - the cashiers at my store did nothing to stop the blatant offenders and I plan on calling corp about it on Monday. If the company is going to have a policy in place - they need to enforce it so we can all enjoy these deals and 1 or 2 people do not get to clear out all the stock before 7:30 am on the first day of the sale. I'll let you know their response.

Let's move on and get back to helping each other save money - drama free. ;-)

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper May 21, 2011

Ladies and gents - please play nice. This blog has remained drama free and I intend to keep it that way.

Jenncurlee, regarding the issue of horading and breaking the rules: The HT policy is that you can double 20 coupons per household per day. Spouses cards are supposed to be linked so your husband's coupons will not double/triple/super double if you have already doubled your 20 for the day using your card. It sounds like you are probably unaware of this policy. If your husband signed up with a different address then your cards didn't get linked which is why you were able to do a shop with both cards. In the end, the policy is 20 per day per household. Keep that in mind the next time around. Mistakes happen. Cut her some slack everyone :-)

With that said - there are MUCH bigger offenders out thee who were at my local HT (401 and Ten Ten) first thing on Wed morning clearing shelves and doing 4 shops each with diff cards. THAT is not cool-not at all and I am calling corp to discuss.

  • jenncurlee May 21, 2011

    To With the Rush of Angles Wings;

How dare you say that about me when you do not even know me. I played by the rules of HT, I did nothing wrong. You call me greey but fyi, I donate about 80% of what I purchase to a local cherity.

By the way, I love the picture of your cross. Funny.

  • With The Rush Of Angels Wings May 20, 2011

The problem is GREEDY hoarders clearing the shelves. People having several orders using different vic cards. BUying stuff that they already have a stockpile of at home.
    RunnyStools

Amen to that. there should BE ONE NAME and one number assigned to the vic cards to stop this type of fraud from happening.

Hoarders are cleaning the shelves. I go to get one thing and the all of the granola bars were gone. So I say to myself today okay were gonna do a test, I drove to another HT about 8 miles away, same thing and THIS WAS ON WEDNESDAY!

  • RunnyStools May 20, 2011

  • queene01 May 20, 2011

Will they issue a rain check for the brawny towels that are on sale for 5.49-- this is in their policy:

We do not issue rainchecks for coupon items that may be out of stock or for “while supplies last” items.

  • lvdad06 May 20, 2011

I agree With The Rush Of Angels Wings!!

I went to the HT in Fayetteville yesterday and all of the sale items were gone!! I did manage to buy $53 worth of groceries and only paid $21. I guess I will try again on Saturday.

  • With The Rush Of Angels Wings May 19, 2011

I'm a newbie at couponing. This week, I tackled HT at 630am! I took another trip using my husband VIC card after work. Totals of the transaction was $167.63 only paide $31.59 after VIC card and coupons! 83% savings...not bad

TO the person who did this, YOU ARE THE REASON the stores are sold OUT OF EVERYTHING, KNOCK THAT OFF, it's called being greedy

  • With The Rush Of Angels Wings May 19, 2011

fact is the show extreme couponing has exposed the amount of fraud use with coupons and now alot of stores are catching on and changing their rules as they apply.

  • brassy May 19, 2011

Thanks for heads up about the HTs in Wake Forest. I went to Harris Crossing today to use the $10 off $40 coupon. They didn't have the French's sauces or onions, Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker brownie mixes, Dannon Greek yogurt, Zatarain's rice mix (I got the $1.99 one), and I got the last 2 Bestlife buttery spread tubs. Wisk and Bounty were still there as of this afternoon.

I don't do rainchecks. If what I want isn't on the shelf, I keep my money.
