Harris Teeter deals 5/11

Posted May 11, 2011

Harris Teeter has some great deals this week including .47/lb chicken leg quarters, $2.77/gallon milk, .49 2 ltr HT soda, .50 Cinnamon Burst Cheerios, and free Tylenol Precise!

As I posted earlier in the week, a number of deal sites are reporting that Harris Teeter will be tripling coupons next Wednesday, May 18th.  I should have confirmation this evening and I'll let you know.  If they do offer triple coupons, they will triple the coupons with a face value of .99 or less so a .75 coupon is worth $2.25 at the register. They will triple 20 per day and up to 3 multiples of a coupon.

Harris Teeter Coupon Policy Basics:

Doubles coupons .99 or less everyday

Doubles up to 20 coupons per day

Doubles up to 3 identical coupons (must have required product to go with each coupon)

BOGO sales ring up at half price. If you just buy one, it still rings up at half price. The policy states that you can only use ONE coupon on a BOGO deal. So, if you buy 2 items that are BOGO, you can only use one coupon total.

Senior discount: Seniors 60 and older receive a 5% discount every Thursday. Discount applies after coupons are deducted.

e-coupons: Don’t forget to add the e-coupons to your Harris Teeter VIC card and remember, you can stack the e-coupons with manufacturer coupons to maximize savings. The link to your e-coupons are in your Wednesday e-Vic e-mail.

E-Vic deal this week: Crystal Springs water 24 pack 4 for $10, limit 4

Meal Deal: Buy 2 Red Baron pizzas for $10 and get the following FREE:
15 oz. TGI Friday’s crispy buffalo wings
2 liter Coke product
MQ: $1 coupon from March 27
Total with 2 coupons = $8 for 2 pizzas, buffalo wings and 2 ltr Coke

General Mills Promotion: Buy 10 items and get $4.00 off at the register. There are a number of GM items on sale this week (including the Cinnamon Burst Cheerios which is already a great deal with sale and coupon) and there are good coupons to match with them. It's basically an additional .40 off per item. Must buy all 10 in the same transaction.  Offer is good through May 17 and the full list of participating items can be found at the link above in the coupon box.

    Thanks for the advice Nancy!

I tried the p&g promo (buy $30 worth in one transaction, get $10 prepaid card) today at HT, but it didn't print my rebate form. Has anyone else had any luck? According to afullcup.com, I can just mail in my receipt, but I'm not too hopeful using that method.

kb79..i could be mistaken..but I believe the policy is (at least at my store it is) that if a product rings up more than the shelf price..it is free....I will ask my manager at my store..so don't quote me yet!

kaphilips - what a wonderful story. Your good deed was actually a good deed for many since she was donating the items to her church ministry. Talk about paying it forward! That is one of the many wonderful things about couponing that I love - you can really help out others in need and still stay within the budget. Thanks for sharing your experience!

no I didn't get the product free, I didn't get anything because it didn't ring up the sale price either...and I couldnt show it to them in the sale paper, because it was not in there ./.I only saw it in the online ad and I was really dissappointed because I always go to this HT and they were very short and rude...about the whole situation

Nancy - thanks for the tip!!

Just wanted to throw out a nice story and a random thank you - I was at the HT at Walnut/Tryon and was in the toothpaste aisle where someone had left a Colgate coupon. There was another lady shopping near me, and considering I have enough toothpaste to last a lifetime right about now, I showed her the coupon and explained how she can get some toothpaste for free. She was so appreciative and shared with me that she was actually buying these items for a church ministry and how much help every little dollar was. I then fished through my notebook and gave her a few other coupons and some advice on how to start saving. So thanks to whoever left that gift for sparking up that conversation and for passing on the joys of couponing :)

Anna - if your ZVR coupon does not register on your receipt, take your receipt to the CS counter and have them refund your money. You can print out the list of ZVR coupons you have loaded on your card through the E-Vic coupon section. I've learned to keep it with me when I know I'm going to be expecting to get one credited. I've had issues with 2 different ZVR coupons in the last couple weeks :(

  • Anna C. May 11, 2011

It seems like I read on here last week somewhere that there were some issues with the ZVR coupons when stacking them with a manufactuer coupon that creates overage. Something about they would not accept one of the coupons due to the overage, only allowing one coupon to scan. Has anyone experienced this problem? I have not tried it yet, but have a couple of cases where this may happen and am trying to figure out what to expect.

bmclamb - you can go into any HT and read the shelf tags (the yellow sale tags) and it will show on the bottom edge of that when the sale dates end :) I did that before Super Doubles and spent two hours going up/down aisles writing it all down LOL

But that way we knew what sale items would continue into SD's and could find more deals that way, in addition to whatever the new sales items come out in the ad :)
