Just a heads up that Kroger no longer lets you use BOTH e-coupons and manufacturer's coupons for the same item. I just checked the Kroger website after someone else mentioned the change (also saw this happen on one of the Extreme Couponing episodes). Their website now has the updated company coupon policy in regards to e-coupons to reflect this change. Just thought you'd want to know since this limits our savings now :-(

Also, one day when I wasn't paying attention because my husband was rushing to get out of the store, I never got my receipt. When I got home, I commented that I never got my receipt because I couldn't plug it into my grocery tracker. I knew it was around $20 and maye $30 in savings. When I got my credit card statement, Kroger charged me $113. I KNOW I never spent THAT amount in a single grocery trip...EVER! Lesson learned, I always get my receipts, even when my husband is with me pestering me to hurry it up.

I guess it's my location. I'm near New Bern and New Hope Kroger and have also tried the Raleigh Rd and Poole Rd Kroger. I always have cashiers that are too busy chatting with their neighboring cashier, ringing items in incorrectly (like the most expensive apple instead of my $0.99 Braeburns), cucumbers instead of zucchini, scanning items twice, not scanning my coupons, arguing with me about the coupons they have scanned, and then lying to the manager after I go to customer service for a rain check, correction on my receipt, or asking them about their coupon policy. I always go in happy expecting to find great finds at great prices and leave irked after being treated so rudely.

I actually had a very helpful cashier at the Six Forks/Wake Forest Road Kroger. During the last Mega Event, she was counting items and she pointed out to me that I had 8 instead of 10...seeing my confusion (cause I had counted out carefully, I thought) she showed me the items on the receipt...then seeing the look of panic on my face (had people behind me, so no time to dart and grab) she offered to ring up 2 extra of the participating items.

I forgot to mention a 5 lb. box of cuties is on sale for $2.99, matches up nicely with the $1.50 coupon. I didn't get any though because they didn't look good at the FV location, but maybe another location? The coupon expires today.

kpeele, it depends on who is working the CS desk as to the level of real CS you get ;)

And I am STILL struggling with where everything is located there. I think they need to hand out maps LOL

  • kpeele May 3, 2011

I usually get pretty good service at the FV Kroger (with a few exceptions) and today was one of those half and half days. The cashier and bagger were very helpful but the CS desk didn't quite have their act together. I asked for a few rainchecks and the person didn't have the whole ad in front of her so she couldn't find the items (Ronzoni pasta and Kraft BBQ sauce)...and she acted like I was crazy for thinking they were part of the mega sale. Plus, when I asked for a raincheck she asked if I had someone look in the back for me. I told her (very politely) that no, with a toddler and baby in my cart, I hadn't tracked down someone to look in the back for me. The store looks nice after the remodel but it's going to take me a while to get used to where everything is now located.

I agree Nancy - they are nice at the FV location. Once again - wishing the Apex or FV Krogers were closer!

  • Nancy May 3, 2011

The Kroger in FV has upped their game some since their remodel at Christmas time. I don't know what happened to the employees, but since the remodel they seem a lot more pleasant :)

I have had very good customer service at the Kroger in Apex. Just wish it wasn't so far from me....
