Harris Teeter Super Doubles brag thread!

Posted April 27, 2011

Let's hear it - how did you do, what did you buy, how much did you save?? Let's have some fun with this one and save, save, save!!

I had a good shop this morning (Wednesday) and stocked up on some things we needed. Here are my totals:

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $94.46

Amount paid: ZERO! I had a gift card from transferring a prescription a couple weeks ago to the the 401/Ten Ten location (they took a Kerr Drug competitors prescription transfer coupon) so I paid nothing for $94 in groceries! THANK YOU HARRIS TEETER!

If I had not had the gift card - my total would have been $18.97, a savings of 80% on all the items you see in the picture above (look at second picture) including 3 containers of Smart Balance milk, 6 Steamfresh veggies, 1 Kashi granola bar, 6 Quaker granola bars, 1 Zest 3 pack, 1 Log Cabin syrup, 2 Entenmann's little bites muffins (using $1 coupons that were sent to me from Entenmann's because I e-mailed to request coupons), 3 Philly cooking creams, 3 Lean Pockets, 1 Minute Rice Steamers, 3 DanActive 4 packs, 1 8 oz HT turkey breast. I am always happy when I can save 80% on milk, veggies, turkey, granola bars and yogurt!

2 Lindt dark chocolate orange bars, 1 Log Cabin, 6 Cheese Nips, 2 Clorox 2 stain remover, 2 individual rolls 7th Generation paper towels, 2 7th Generation fabric softeners, 2 J&J first aid kits, 2 Reach floss, 2 Buitoni fettucini, 1 tub of HT whipped cream cheese (hubby had to have cream cheese, and it was the best price), 3 packs of Activia dessert yogurts for ....

    *drumroll, please*

    4.03 OOP!

I brought a competitors coupon to use, my $5 fresh rewards from the Rex survey, but my total wasn't high enough to use it. (I know, such problems I have.)

The HT cream cheese was the MOST expensive item I bought, at $1.85. The next most expensive thing was the sales tax, at $1.19. After that, the Clorox stain removers were 50 cents each. Which leaves the -1 cent discrepancy. I was watching, and the Log Cabin Q, which should have doubled to $1.99 doubled to $2.

    67.04 - 63.01 (21.73 VIC & 41.28 paper Qs)

I saved almost 94%! Go me!

ddalmas, lol that's funny. I'm sure the selves being stocked has something to do with them being in the middle if inventory. In other words...no overstock in the back. I didn't mind the chaos tho, to many deals to be had! Even my favorite cashier said something about it being so quiet tho.

2 boxes of Earth's Best Organic baby cookies, 3 jars of Classico, 3 bottles of Log Cabin, 4 boxes of Cheese Nips, 3 Powerade, 2 Propel, 1 Hidden Valley Ranch, 1 LaCroix 12 pack (lime, yummy), 1 tub Seventh Generation baby wipes, 3 Tide travel size pouches, 6 J&J First Aid kits, 1 Calamari steak (I dunno, it looked interesting), 2/3 lb Roast Beef from the deli for $7.82 OOP.

    Saved $69.58, $22.08 VIC, $47.50 coupons, for a savings of almost 90%!

    :D

tismith - you can always check the current policy online if you're not sure:

    Hope that helps :)

t0talcha0s: Think I'm too tired ... had this mental image when reading your post about the quiet store with full shelves at 401/Ten Ten of all couponer traffic veering/u-turning/hightailing to visit that store.

destiny: If you have a Walgreens near you, don't mourn missing the bandaids at HT ... this week the NexCare bandages are on sale for $2.99 at WG and if you happen to have the .55 insert coupon you can bring that down to $2.44; plus there's a Try Me Free peelie on most boxes with a Mail In Rebate good for refunding your purchase price up to $3.99. MIR forms are a little time-consuming, plus you need to put a postage stamp on the envelope. However, when I actually looked at the rebate form today, it allows you to buy up to 3 boxes, one of EACH type (Waterproof, Active Waterproof, and Soft 'n Flex) for a total rebate of up to $11.97. The rebate expiration date is not until 12/31/11, so if you have shopping fatigue during SD week, this deal can wait until another week. :-)
