Everyone ok after the storms?

I'm just checking in to make sure you are all ok after the terrible storms yesterday. I hope you and your families are all safe and that your homes and businesses sustained no damage.  We were very lucky to only have rain and heavy wind at our home. My thoughts are with everyone who saw the worst of the storms.

For information on how you can help the storm victims, click on the link in the box. This is a great way to donate some of your stockpile.

I was listing to G105 this morning while I was driving to the gym this morning and I was not able to get there. I am going to make a donation to the Red Cross. There is a lady that goes to the gym and she works for the Red Cross and I know that she is busy at this time. We need to keep many of the people in our through at this time. I live in the Johnston County area in Four Oaks and I know that part of Benson and Smithfield got hit bad, but the storm was not that bad in Four Oaks.

I am so thankful for my stockpile~often my friends and extended family laugh when I tell them about my "stockpile" but it felt really good to be able to drop off three bags of food at Brooks Elementary today for the Stoneybrook families....and I was also able to drop off a bag with medicine like bandaids, neosporin, Execedrin, etc as well...

I would like to add a donation suggestion, Wake Crisis Ministries, located on Chatham St in downtown Apex. They help people in Apex and Holly Springs with utility payments and also have a food bank. They helped me with my electric bill today, and I am so thankful. They will be in need of food and supplies for the Holly Springs residents impacted by this disaster. I believe they also accept cash donations. They have an all volunteer staff running the operation. Glad you all are safe after the storm!

I live in Hillsborough & am very fortunate the worst of the storms missed us. I’m still a baby at this couponing thing and have no ‘stockpile’ of donatable groceries but thought I take the time at some point this week to let the Red Cross extract a pint of my O-negative to help replenish the blood bank.

All is well here. No damage at all. Just a few branches here and there... but that's normal after just an ordinary storm that comes thru.

There was a large turnout at the HT over on Hwy 55 Bypass in Holly Springs - Q105 was there collecting for the victims. Tons of clothes, food and paper products, bottled water etc. Plus a long line of folks donating to the Red Cross, blood donations as well. They got a bigger turnout than expected, the truck was full and lots still left to transfer.

It's nice to hear from everyone. We experienced the beginnings of this in Boone with wicked rain/wind and flooding. Mud was covering one shopping center parking lot. Coming back home we saw all of the devastation in Holly Springs. Wow! My daughter's school is closed since it is in a hard hit area and I'm not sure how long that will take to reopen. Thank you Faye for giving us a way to check on everyone.
