Share the deals 4/14

Found a deal? Here's the place to share it!

I am teaching a class today for consumer math students at Wake Tech and then working on taxes so I won't have much time for blogging.  Feel free to post any good deals you find!

brassy asked: Can anyone recommend an inexpensive printer for printable coupons?

I have used both laser and ink jet (I got my cartridges refilled also), but have found that inkjet is more economical by ordering a bottle of refill ink off of eBay and I can print for a very long time. Another tip: I print on the clean side of paper on which I have previously printed something, but no longer need - saves a lot of paper.

Oxy: good point, thanks! I actually didn't buy oranges at BJ's the other evening 'cause I didn't think they looked so great, but will send in the Blue Moon rebate form with a previous oranges or bacon purchase receipt. Think I have one from Lowes bacon sale from a couple weeks ago...

Sweet deal LAX! Happy to help :)

The pure vanilla extract was still B1G1.

I just went to Lowes Food and spent $1.84 on 2 packs of Lance cr*ckers, 1 individual pack of Lance peanuts, and 1 McCormick pure vanilla extract.

I had coupons for the Lance cr*ckers and the vanilla. The best part was a gift from Nancy. The 59 cent free Lance peanuts coupon from the swap was applied to the peanuts which were 50 cents and it was doubled so my peanuts and my vanilla was free. I just had to pay 90 cents each plus tax for the cr*ckers. Thank you Nancy!

I just went to Harris Teeter and got 6 bags of the Buy 1 Get 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts which only cost me $20...saving me $40! If you purchase 3 bags, it's only $10! Great deal!

brassy - to print black/white inexpensively you will have to go with a laser printer, not an inkjet. Laser printers have come way down in price and you can get a relatively inexpensive one now.

BUT - (there's always a but)the key to picking out a good laser printer is to make sure you can get remanned cartridges and not have to buy new ones. They are expensive, but provide thousands of pages of print per cartridge, overall cost much, much less than any inkjet.

I buy remanned laser printer cartridges from a company online called LD - less than half the price of a new cartridge and we've used them on all three of our printers, without any issues at all!

So check before you buy, to see if they carry the cartridges for any printer you're thinking of buying, it will save you a lot of money over the life of the printer.

triplettk, I'm too cheap to buy those kits, a little vinegar in some water with a few drops of food coloring will do the trick. A big spoon always works better than that wire hoop anyway.

ddalmas, those things are rarely store specific. You could probably buy the bacon or oranges just about anywhere. In fact, I've seen that rebate mentioned on some deals forums, people looking for the forms, etc.
