Reminder: Krispy Kreme opens in Fuquay-Varina tomorrow (4/5)

Posted April 4, 2011

The new Krispy Kreme store will open its doors in Fuquay-Varina on Tuesday, April 5th. There are some sweet giveaways for the early bird and I don't mean worms! The store is located at  728 N. Judd Parkway (near Walmart Supercenter).

According to the e-mail I received:

The new Neighborhood Shop will open at 6 a.m., if you arrive early enough you have a chance at the following:

• The first customer will receive one free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every week for a year.
• The next 49 customers will receive one free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year.

If you line up right now, I bet you have a great chance of scoring some serious doughnuts!

Freshness will depend on the number of times they deliver a day. If they only deliver at 5am and they still selling them all day--by closing time they are not fresh. By closing time they will almost be a day old. You can get them that fresh at Harris Teeter. I really like KK-- but would never buy them at the store--if they not fresh -- they are "old hat". You remember when most of the fast food places already had their hamburgers made up-- when you got your order you had no idea how long it had been sitting waiting to be sold. To get a fresh made burger-- you had to order it different than anything you knew they had made up. The location in FV is a bad one. It is at a stoplight intersection. To get in you have to make a right turn and to get out make a right turn. You never going to be able to make a left turn at that busy intersection. Two lanes of traffic at a stop light!

superman, I believe the only place in our area that cooks them at the location is Peace St. But if they bring them in to local stores from there, that's pretty fresh. They will taste a lot fresher than the ones from the grocery store I believe.

I am really confused! Don't they cook them in the back? If all they do is sell them-- I can buy them from any grocery store. KK is my passion but I want them fresh. Hope they have the New York Cheesecake. That is my favorite. But then again--anything that is fresh--I love it. When we vacation at Mrytle Beach--we stop at KK before we even check into the hotel.

That would have been my crazy neighbor in the blue chair. She was filling in for her hubby who has been there since Friday I think. He, he...

That line of storms looks nastier by the minute - it runs the entire length of the east coast and wider than Florida! I'd rather pay for my donuts, thankyouverymuch :)

When I went by during lunch today there was a lady out there with her blue recliner. Whew. At least she will be comfortable while she waits...at least until the storms come through.

Tomorrow is my daughter's 17th birthday, and she has requested that we get up at the crack of dawn and try to win free donuts. *sigh*

  • Trickat Apr 4, 2011

They used to give one free donut to each customer, every day. Do they still do that?
