It's the end of week three of the 25 lb weight loss challenge and it's time to share your results. How did you do?

I lost another 2 lbs this week! That makes a total of 7 lbs lost since the challenge started 3 weeks ago and 12 lbs lost since the beginning of February.

I got a little more exercise this week in the form of walking. This cold rainy weather isn't very inviting today, though. Although I am still eating very well, I need to up the exercise even more (didn't I say that last week?). Can someone please add an additional 2 hours to each day for exercise and quiet time? Pretty please?

My goal for next week is 3 lbs lost. Since I will be at the Southern Women's Show Friday through Sunday, I figure I won't have any time to eat anyway! LOL

I had a delicious breakfast today with 1/2 cup Egg Beater eggs (free with coupon from the Walmart sign up weeks ago), 1 Morningstar veggie sausage link, 1/2 cup mushrooms sliced and sauteed and 1 cup spinach sauteed (no oil or butter used). Total calories: 150, 15 grams protein, 3 gr fat., 100% tasty!

    In reference to the drinking plenty of water during your meal:

    I had weight loss surgery almost 18mos ago and I've lost just shy of 165lbs so far. As part of my pre-surgical requirements and post-surgical follow ups I've had to constantly stay in touch with and have a nutritionist examine my food diary. Drinking while eating is something that's strongly discouraged. Why? It aids in your food digestion process and makes it digest quicker leaving you feeling hungry again soon after eating. It's great to drink a glass a half hour before the meal, and plenty throughout the day just not while you're eating or the immediate 15mins after. I don't follow that rule to a T tho. I get a juice glass or small coffee mug and fill that with ice and water. I take tiny sips if my meat feels like it might be having trouble going down or I feel like it's "stuck" in my chest. I don't allow myself any more water than that small cup and I usually try to limit it to half of that.

    Dieting tips:

    It takes 20 or 30 minutes for the body to register that you're full. Not saying you can't have seconds, but if you're inclined, wait. If you're still hungry in half an hour, have at it.

    If you're thirsty, you'll eat more. Seriously. Drink 8 oz of water before your meal, at least, and then keep drinking during the meal.

    Trick your body with a blue plate special. Blue is an unappetizing color. In spite of the colors of traffic lights, red and colors at that end of the spectrum are "GO" colors, blue and colors at that end of the spectrum (like green) are "STOP" colors. Avoid red in and around your dining area, go for blue or green. They've done studies. People with red dining rooms are 5-10 lbs heavier than people with blue dining rooms.

    Great ideas, Cynthia! I actually used a small plate at dinner tonight and wasn't even tempted to have seconds. I do need to drink more water though.

    One thing to try is eating off of smaller plates and drinking plenty of water. It's amazing how these small changes can help to decrease your portion sizes and make it easier to lose weight.

    At least you didn't gain any, ambear and autumn nut!

    Very impressive on the running, ambear. My whole body would be killing me if I tried to run.

    None this week. Better than I thought but I did start back running. My thighs are killing me from the hills in my neighborhood!

    Great job Faye! I didn't post about it before, but your post inspired me to get in gear and start my weight loss plan too.
    I had some things going on at the time so I didn't get started until Monday of last week, but I'm happy to report that I've lost 6.5 lbs! WoooHooo! I've done it by cutting back on carbs.
    I'm staying away from white bread, sugar and white potatoes and eating tons of fruits and veggies. So far it's been rather easy. I hope it continues to be, but I plan on being down 25 lbs by sometime in May. (Then I'll set some new goals for myself because I need to lose way more than 25 lbs!) I do plan on adding walking starting next week if all goes well.

    My SIL told me a couple weeks back that she lost 12lbs...I told her I found it for her!

    Although I didn't post to be in the challenge, I am down 3lbs! woohoo go me...lol Nice job everyone!
