Aldi produce prices

Posted March 17, 2011

Here is a list of recent Aldi produce prices that Kristi took the time to share! There are some very good deals!  These prices are from a shop she did on Monday. Although the new sales start on Wednesdays, she said she had seen the same produce prices for a while. Hopefully they will still be as good when you shop there next.  Thanks so much Kristi!

Remember that Aldi produce is often very ripe and needs to be used soon after purchase. Click HERE for the Aldi weekly ad for March 16. The weekly ads usually don't contain most of the produce deals so you need to check in-stores for the best produce buys. This week's ad does show some good deals for bananas, red potatoes, onions and cabbage.

One of the very best deals at Aldi's is their frozen Angus burgers, you will be very pleased with those!

And of course, their jumbo frozen, cooked and peeled shrimp - also very good!

Aldis is a great place to shop! The food is very decent for the price. Yes you have to watch the produce, its good when its fresh, but after its been there awhile - not so good.
I especially like to shop there during the holidays.
The only encounter I've ever had in there was the cashier was snippy with me becasue I returned something and she made me feel like I was a horrible person for returning something. She said even though it was sealed they would throw it away and I should have donated it! Other than that - I've been pretty happy!

The mushrooms at Aldi are always $1.29 for 8 oz, and they are always nice. I laugh when the other stores trumpet $1.89 for 8 oz. Such a deal!

Otherwise their produce is a shot in the dark. Sometimes it's nice, yesterday most of it was awful. Except the mushrooms. :)

The meat at Aldi is fine

I love Aldi! When we make out grocery list each week we make a want and need list. We only get the want list if it is on sale or with a coupon (or both!). The need list is filled at Aldi if it is not on sale for a better price somewhere else.

I have tried Aldi "Fit" ground beef 93%. It is very good. You just can't beat the prices. Milk, cheese and eggs all good. kids juice, nuts, cookies. Great place to shop!!

Has anyone tried their fresh meat? I didn't know they even had meat at their stores. I guess it's been so long since I went. I thought it was all canned items. I guess I'm really behind...

Good deals on some of the produce. I don't have an Aldi's close to me, but I will be traveling to Fayetteville tommorrow. I believe they have one there. Love pineapples and that's a good deal (pineapples are now $3.99)!

At Aldi in Cary yesterday the tangerines, oranges, onions and potatoes were not in good condition. Most were really squishy. Hopefully the staff had a chance to weed those out last night/this morning. The potatoes didn't look much better, and the cukes were bendable. The romaine hearts looked oily and discolored. Note: Trader Joe's has the same size romaine lettuce for $1.79-1.99 (depending on their pricing that month).

When we lived in CT, the Aldi manager let us know which days they received shipment on produce so I'd arrive early on those days and get pick of the bunch. This hasn't been the case yet in Cary, but I'm hoping that I'll see a manager soon! :)
