Food Lion is running a new Big Deal promo and you can get up to $15 off instantly at the register when you buy qualifying items! The Food Lion Private Brand sale is also still running and there are a number of good produce, meat and diaper deals! There are some pretty inexpensive store brand products making some 10 cents or less after coupon. Look for good deals on jello, yogurt, canned cat food, tomato sauce, individual bottled water, individual soda cans and more. Please post any good deals you find!

I just returned and saved a fair amount. I stocked up on poptarts and toaster strudel. My favorite deal was on Blue Bunny ice cream. It was BOGO and with my $2 x 2 coupons - .50 for mega deal I got 2 half gallons for .50 each. Then one for $1. I spent $50.63; saved $58.37 which was a 54% savings. Not bad.

I only saved 30$ yesterday at FL with coupons & MVP. It does say at the bottom-- congratulations you recieved your 5$ off, it also said 5.00$ off the register but you have to watch it just right so you see it flash at the end. I liked this sale because I was able to get things at a good price that would keep. They also have their FL brand pasta on sale for 1$. Kraft block cheese is BOGO @ 2.99$

jzka23vzka.....the manager at FL let me use the mq she said it would not scan because they were both from philly cooking creme but since they were for different items I could use both. So I got the cooking creme and 1.25lb of chicken breat for $1.48 :)

Here is the deal I got using the mega event....I purchased 4 2lt Pepsis, 2 2lt Sunkist (each had a .55 peelie on them), 2 toaster strudle $1/2 mq from penguin at HT, Crest toothpaste $1 mq, 1box of Lucky Charms .55 printable....paid $7.49 saved $11.81

One of the deals they had posted was buy any combo of 10 2lt pepsi products, sobe lifewater or lipton green tea and they are .75 each with the $5.00 off so if you combine it with q's its a pretty good deal

tmsellers...I have the same trouble at FL. I always try to explain that I'm still purchasing that item, just at a discounted price, I usually give up easily because it's not worth the frustration.

My HT in Holly Springs knows their stuff, so no trouble there, but the HT in Cary at Tryon/Walnut gave me a hard time a while back with a buy 2 Orville Red. popcorn, get free soda - the cashier called a mgr. and insisted I couldn't double dip by using a coupon on the popcorn.

Just wondering if anyone had any luck finding deals with the Mega Event? I didn't see any great ways to play this one.

    Faye, I have EXTRAS!

My Ex's mother's (red-head next to me last night) SO works at the post office. Since I've started gifting them bags of freebies he's been checking the trash cans in the post office on his break and at the end of the day for Qs and I came home with 5 or 6 of those FL coupon books last I was up their way.

FL didn't mail me one either. :D

They expire 3/29, I think. I'll bring those Qs to the next swap, though you may have to ask me to dig them out of my binder.

I should be passing by the studio on Western some time next week, if you'd like I can leave an envelope for you.

queen01 - Im not sure how it is supposed to show but similar promotion showed it as the whole amount deducted and normally have a box at the bottom of the receipt that says congratulations you qualified for insert promotion name here.

The items just show up as normal on the receipts. I counted as I shopped. Some of them are listed in the ad but there are special shelf tags on the BIG SALE items marking them and most of these items were on MVP sale as well.

Hope it goes well for you...the manager at the store I shopped was contacting corporate to get it corrected.

tmsellers25-- I am going this afternoon- How did you know you purchased 10 of the big sale items? Did it tell at the bottom of the receipt or did you count when you were shopping? Also does it is suppose to say "saved 5$ instantly" or would it be .50 off an item, like they do the MVP cards?

I am going today so I will defiantly check the receipt!

  • queene01 Mar 9, 2011

Faye-I am sorry I saw the circle buy it, but it is only BOGO... so half off then .75 off with the coupon I have. BUMMER! I wish it was a big deal item!

Just got back from shopping at FL....glad I checked my receipt. I purchased 10 of the Big Sale items and the $5 did not come off instantly. The manager did give me $5.10 cash but it took a little back and forth...she told me I should have got a coupon for $5.00 off but I showed her the ad, she check my receipt and Gave me the cash.

I also had a coupon dispute..I had a mq for $1.50 off chicken when you purchase philly cooking creme and $1.50 mq off the cooking creme. The cashier said they were both for the same thing but after talking with the manager I was able to use both..

So had a bit a frustration shopping today but got some good deals and saved quite a bit
