Cashier tried 3 times to scan printables. He then headed towards customer service. Cashier came back to tell me if they won't scan then they won't take them. Cashier kept the coupons and threw them away so I had him dig them out of the trash and give back to me. Items like cottenelle and Arnold bread coupons.

renathe - I have been shopping the Lowes in Clayton for years and never had a problem with printables. Did you ask to speak with a manager? Their policy is to take printables. If the coupons were for anything free, many stores will not take those (including BOGO printable coupons). Please let us know why they rejected the coupons. I agree with Nancy that you should call the manager, John and ask why. I wouldn't be surprised if he has you bring them in and then gives you cash back for the ones that were rejected.

You can print most printables twice. Each one has a unique code on it identifying your computer.

Do not make copies, please. Stores don't get paid for copies. If they don't get paid, they're losing money. That's why stores are leary of printables. Also, your computer will be indentified as the source of the bad coupons, and you will lose the ability to print.

For that reason, I don't trade internet printables.

If you want more than 2 copies of a Q, print from a different computer. We have several computers in my house, but if you only have one you can hit up friends and relatives for a few minutes alone with their computer and printer. You can always repay their kindness with some free toothpaste.

I could paint my house with all the free toothpaste I can get this year.

Can you print out a bunch and use them all at the same time? Just learning the new couponing stuff :)

I frequently shop Lowe's in Clayton and only one time had a "bit" of a problem with an internet coupon that wouldn't scan. The cashier did say that their policy is, if it won't scan, they won't take it. But she put it in manually as it was a duplicate one and the first one did scan.

I just used some printable coupons in the Clayton store on Wednesday, and they took them just fine. Not sure why they wouldn't take 'em.

Oh, and the Lowes Food in Garner on Aversboro & Timber Dr takes printables too..........

  • Nancy Mar 5, 2011

renathe, did they indicate why? Would they not scan? Or did they just reject all printables automatically?

If I were you, I would call the manager and ask why they are not taking them.

The Lowes Food in Holly Springs takes them without fail - so unless it's that stores policy (Clayton), they should accept them!

Sorry I meant would "NOT" accept my printable coupons.

Lowe's food in Clayton would accept any of my internet printable coupons from today. Really put a damper on my savings. Anyone else have trouble with printables?
