My husband today checked his receipt before leaving Kroger's and found he was overcharged by 10 cents per pound for organic apples. He bought about 9 pounds and was refunded the total amount for the mistake, making them FREE, saving us $12. It really pays to check receipts before leaving the store!

jdouglas ... if you're having prescriptions filled at Target, ever, use your RedCard. I think it's after 5 prescriptions paid for with your RedCard you earn a cert for 5% or 10% off for one day in Target. Might take a while, if you're playing the transfer game to hit their mark, but you will hit it eventually. If you don't have a RedCard and don't want more credit, they can give you one that is linked to your debit card, and that still counts IIRC.

jzka, I found them when I was going to State (they had one on Hillsboro, might still but I haven't been by there in a while). We had a laser printer, and I popped over one day to check out their prices because we were going to need a replacement soon. They offered a discount to State students, on top of having really good prices. :)

Cartridge World in Cary on Cary Pkwy has a printable online (cartridgeworld.com) coupon for $10 off toner or $3 off ink, store brand only. I'm willing to bet that most locations have the same offer.

A special thanks to RaleighCitizenshipClasses for posting the CW info a few weeks ago - I paid 35.99 for toner as opposed to the 77.99 locked price I couldn't escape.

Shows some sites companies that give discounts to anybody paying the full non-insurance price on Rx's. I never tried it, but I fond it while researching for Rx discounts. Supposedly works at all regular pharmacies.

I just got coupons in the mail from Chik-Fil-A, one for a free drink, one for a free chicken mini 3 piece and one for a free chicken biscuit. No other purchase necessary.

They must really be pushing the marketing!

LOVE the Chick-fil-a info, I will sure be there. Does anyone know what grand opening specials are taking place at the new HT on Capital in Wake Forest? There is nothing on their website and I would appreciate anyone who gets a sale flyer for that store tomorrow to consider posting the best loss leaders for that store.

Triangle area Chick fil A's are running a promotion called "Free Breakfast Tuesdays". If you come in before 10:30 every Tuesday in March, and mention the name of the promotion, you will receive either a free chicken biscuit or a 3 count chicken mini.

March 1, 15, 29 you can get either a free chicken or spicy chicken biscuit.

March 8 & 22 you will receive a free 3 count chicken mini.

We have some pretty expensive meds, some of which we don't have insurance for, so I feel your pain. To get the absolutely lowest price, I do call around to all the pharmacies and ask what their prices are. I agree that it is a pain in the neck, but sometimes the difference in price is quite surprising. We try to get generic meds whenever possible. On the plus side, since we do pay cash, we can take advantage of the RX gift cards from Target, Kroger, etc., when they are available vs. when we can get the next refill due to insurance company's timetable. In fact, we usually initially fill the prescription at Target and get the $10 card, and then transfer to Kroger to get the $25 card, assuming the net price works out overall.

We've found that Wal-Mart has the best overall prescription prices, but no one pharmacy has the best price on every rx. Walgreens was by far the most costly for our needs.

Even Canadian pharmacies have gone up tremendously. We would not have saved much, if any, ordering out of country.

You can also check with BJ's, Costco or Sam's. It didn't work out for what we have, but for some prescriptions, the savings are spectacular.

Good luck. Hopefully, someone out there will have better info.
