Quail Ridge Books honors Borders discount

Posted February 22, 2011

I received an e-mail from Quail Ridge Books with a nice offer for Borders discount card holders:

"You may have seen in the news that all but one Borders in our area are closing. If you have a Borders discount card, come in and we will honor it with a free Quail Ridge Readers' Club discount card good for one year. And our big Spring Readers' Club sale is coming up (April 29 - May 2)."

Quail Ridge Books is located at 3522 Wade Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27607-4048, (919) 828-1588.

I don't typically shop at Borders much, but I was pleased with the prices I paid on Sunday, especially for kid's books in the marked down section. We found lots of things for the grandson, and paid for them with a gift card we got for Christmas.

    :-)

The best deal I found at Borders on Sunday was the newstand area where all magazines were 40% off. The lines were very long but moved pretty quickly.

Wish Barnes and Nobles would honor the discounts like Quail Ridge Books is doing. But wishful thinking, I guess!!

The Borders that are closing have started their liquidation. Of course, they marked prices up before applying their 20-40% 'discounts'.

For instance, the DVD of NCIS Season 1 was $28.99 last week. It is $45.99 now. But it is still $26.99 at Borders.com.
