Super Doubles Totals Day 1
Here are the totals from my transaction today (Wednesday). I didn't get there until a little after 9 am, but they still had a good amount of stock and I was very pleased. You can see a picture of my receipt and the products I purchased to the left.
My total before sales and coupons was: $71.83
Total amount saved: $71.65
Amount spent: .18 (yes, 18 cents)
% saved: 99%
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my Harris Teeter?!
Here's the breakdown:
9 Green Giant frozen veggie boxes on sale for $1 each - 3 coupons for $1/3 (found at thecouponclippers.com a few weeks ago) = .33 per box
1 Smart Balance milk $3.89 - $1.50 insert coupon = .89
2 Betty Crocker potatoes $1 each - peelie coupon (don't remember when or where I got it) for $1/2 = FREE
1 Smart Balance popcorn BOGO for $1.60 - .75 insert coupon
3 Ragu sauces (I had a rancheck making them $1.50 each) - $1.25/3 insert coupon = .66 each
2 Wishbone dressings $2.00 - $1 insert coupon = FREE
1 Chi chi's salsa BOGO for $1.50 - .50 insert coupon
2 Wholly Guacamole $2.29 - $1.50 printable coupon = FREE
2 Grande tortilla chips $2.50 each - $1.50/2 coupon = $1 each
2 Simply juice raspberry lemonade $2.50 each - $1 printable coupon = .50 each
1 Clorox bleach $1.99 - $1 printable coupon (I posted about it a few days ago) = FREE
1 Mariani dried pineapple snack $1.50 - .75 insert coupon = FREE
1 Mentos candy .79 - .50 insert coupon = FREE
1 Oscar Mayer deli creations BOGO for $1.25 - $1 peelie coupon given to me by a friend = FREE
1 Oscar Mayer smoked turkey deli meat $2.50 - $1 peelie coupon given to me by a friend = FREE
I also used a $10 CVS ECB because it is Harris teeter's policy to take competitors couponswhen the coupon is for a total off your total order (liek a coupon for $4 off a $20 order). Although I have used ECB's and Walgreens Register Rewards at HT before, the CSR told me today that they don't consider CVS to be a competitor, but he would take my coupon this time. So, your mileage may vary on this one depending on your store. The RR's from Walgreen's usually scan just fine because they are manufacturer's coupons, but they have to manually enter the ECB's so your store may or may not allow this. He was very nice and I told him it I understood if he couldn't take it but he said he would do it this time. Wasn't that nice?!

Carol, it's common for HT to run out of the best deals very quickly during Super Doubles. I've found the best thing to do is to go to the store early enough to be in the check out line by 7 a.m. when the Super Doubles begin. Waiting until later will almost guarantee you miss the best deals.

I spent $75 and saved $75 so 50% savings. I think that's pretty good for me. I'd love to get better but I work full time and just don't have the time or energy to throw into it to get ALL the best deals. AND, it's just the husband and I. Not feeding a lot of kids anymore.
I bought 4 packages of meat which drove the total price up but they were good deals. Also dog food and cat food that were ok deals but we were running low.
So between Tues and Wed, Kroger and HT, I spent about $160, saved about $130 and I'm fully stocked for about a month. Not bad.

LAX - as total posted, register coupons never double. Sad, but true. (Thanks for the help , Total!).
Now - it's about time I actually type up the regular weekly deals for HT and stop obsessing over Super Doubles! Should have them posted in a bit.
