Kroger deals 2/13

Posted February 13, 2011

This week at Kroger there is a Daytona 500 Mega Event including lots of deals on race day snacks. You'll also find .99/lb apples, broccoli for $1.50/bunch and Tyson drumsticks for .79/lb.  Deals valid February 13 – February 19.

Kroger Coupon Policy Basics

Doubles coupons up to .50

Many Kroger stores only allow 2 identical coupons per day (check with your store about their limits)

No total limits of coupons doubled per day

Senior citizen’s Day on Tuesday’s: If you are born on or before 1954, receive a 5% discount on total grocery bill (excludes alcohol, tobacco and prescriptions)

Kroger e-coupons can be found at the link in the box above

Prescription Transfer Bonus: The ad indicates that if you transfer a prescription, you will get $25 in free groceries. They add $25 to your Kroger card to use in the store.

Daytona 500 Mega Event: Save $3 now and Save $3 later (a $3 coupon prints out at checkout good on next purchase) when you buy 10 participating items with your shopper’s card. Basically, you save .30 off each item at the register and then get another .30 per item back in the form of a register coupon to be used on the next purchase. I have to admit, I am noticing a lot of processed foods on the mega event for this time. I would have liked to see more choices like Steamfresh veggies.

Only a fraction of the qualifying items are mentioned in the ad. For the full list Click HERE.

ijstarr - Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods both accept competitors coupons for an amount off your total order. For instance, the coupons from Kroger are $3 off your next order. HT and Lowes will take those. HT and Lowes will nto take competitor coupons for specific products, liek a coupon for $1.00 off 1 Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal. They will take coupons for $3 off your $35 purchase for example. Food Lion sometimes offers these.

Momboozer - now you can see why we don't get excited about Kmart double coupons. Their prices are not what you would expect. There are a few good deals to be found during their doubling events, but since they added the $25 minimum purchase after coupons, most of us don't even go.

Kroger's policy is that you cannot stack MQ's and ecoupons. The ecoupons from Kroger,, and P&Gesaver are all manufacturer's coupons and are not meant to be coupled with hard copy coupons. None of the ecoupons will double either. With that said, people try to stack them all the time as there are some deal sites that post deals with them stacked, even through it is clearly against company policy. If you have an ecoupon loaded onto your card and you try to use a hard copy coupon as well, it will almost always beep and then the cashier decided whether to manually accept it or not.

GREAT deal on the hummus, kcampbell!

Thanks for the coupon amount info, batey. I wish Garner took 4!

What are the rules regarding MQs and e-coupons? Can you add a MQ with an E-coupon and will that MQ still double?

I am issuing a retraction to my earlier statement. I went into Kmart to write down some specific prices to decide which coupons to use. Their prices were terrible!! Almost like paying full price at CVS or other drug store. There were a few good sale items but I would definitely not shop there without only buying LOSS leaders.

Was in Lowes Foods at Brier Creek this weekend to get grapes, grapes, more grapes and sour cream. The Athenos Hummus is on closeout and was $1.49. I still had the $1 internet coupons so got 4 containers for $.49 each. This is our favorite brand and they are good until late April. Hope some others can get in on this.

Just an FYI... The Kroger in Fuquay will accept 4 identical coupons. The location in Garner (Timber Dr.) only accepts 2. Grateful that Fuquay is closer to me!

can you clarify the policy where the $3 print out form kroger can be used at HT?

  • momboozer Feb 13, 2011

Faye, Kmart is offering their double coupons again this week. They say up to $2. Since you have to spend $25 dollars, if you work it right I have come up with some good deals. Especially since I can use my $2 coupons where HT only goes to $1.98 and many of Kmart's prices are lower than HT' regular prices. I generally do not like Kmart but I will venture in on this one.
