Made my pilgramage to RA today. Cost me $33 in +ups and $22.89 in real money :), but I got back $30 in +ups and they'll be sending me $36.97 SCR. I can deal with that exchange rate. Make me feel better about messing up the deal there last week and losing $10 in +ups.

Gotta go back tomorrow for more money makers.

"The Bonus Buy total towards the $100 is before any coupons, sales tax, VV's are entered, so while the total may look high (you never spent anywhere near that amount!), it's impossible to actually hit the $100 on the dot because it doesn't seem to add up quite right."

My brain hiccups waaay more than RA's sytems...thanks for the reminder Nancy =)

"I know mine shows 46.xx and I know I'm not that spendy." - jz

The Bonus Buy total towards the $100 is before any coupons, sales tax, VV's are entered, so while the total may look high (you never spent anywhere near that amount!), it's impossible to actually hit the $100 on the dot because it doesn't seem to add up quite right.

RCC - can't possibly figure out why your amount would go down instead of up - that's plain bizarre.

Then again, RA and it's programs always seem to have a lot of hiccups and glitches and the store personnel are usually without a clue (they're never really told what's going on it seems) and even calling RA CS sometimes is a lesson in "who has a clue, connect me to them please"

You've been gyped, Raleigh! If it were me and I thought I might make it to the $100 mark, I would show it to my mgr. (since he's cool.) Do I recall yours is not? E-mail to corporate time? I know mine shows 46.xx and I know I'm not that spendy.

    Here's a question for you....

I went to RA on Saturday, made 2 purchases. My second receipt printed out my total towards the winter bonus as LESS than my total on the first receipt.

Anybody got a clue? And yes, I've triple checked the time/transaction numbers on them. The second total is LESS than the first.

Looks like I'll be rolling +ups into SCRs this week. :)

  • Nancy Feb 6, 2011

ddalmas - yup, it's happened to me and as long as you can explain to the cashier who scans it (and hands it back) that it will be a problem the next time it's scanned, it will be rejected, if you shop at the same store, perhaps they can mark it somehow to let them know what's going to happen and force acceptance as a "discount" or whatever.

That is what my RA staff does, they know it's valid, even though it won't take and force it through in some other fashion for me to get the credit.

When you're trying to get as close to the total as possible, check with the cashier what the sales tax portion of that subtotal is first, then hand over UPs accordingly. As long as you don't hit into sales tax, you won't have a rejected UP reward :)

  • Dr D Feb 6, 2011

Nancy - that's it! Thank you! Sometimes I hand over one too many +UP coupons and the last one is scanned but rejected because the coupon value is greater than the subtotal. The cashier hands it back to me, and it's not redeemed in either of our minds, but now I realize that these are the ones the register is rejecting on my next trip. Not that this is what *should* happen, but it makes sense to me now, how it apparently *does* happen: the system is recording every coupon scanned as used, even if it is not actually accepted and redeemed. That puzzle was going to keep bugging me if unsolved ... good work! :-)
