Amount saved with sales and coupons: $65.48

Total paid after sales and coupons: $5.39

% Saved: 92%

Items purchased:

2 Nasoya tofu $2 each - $1 printable coupons (no longer available) = FREE (very happy about FREE tofu!)

4 Mueller's macaroni and spaghetti $1 each - $1/2 coupons = FREE

1 Reach Floss $1.65 - $1 coupon = FREE

1 Yakisoba noodles $1 - .50 coupon = FREE

1 Nature's Pride 100% whole wheat bread $3.49 - FREE product coupon company sent me when I a-mailed and asked if they had any coupons they could send = FREE

1 Dickinson red rasp. preserves BOGO for $2.65 - $1 coupon (found on display months ago) = .65

1 Peter Pan peanut butter $1.67 - .50 coupon = .67

I bought a total of 27 items for $5.39 = .19 per item!

Although I realize the wisdom of limiting us to 20 coupons doubled per day, it would sure be fun to be able to double a few more coupons per day (maybe not quite as much as the Extreme Couponing shoppers, though!). In the end, I am very grateful for the 20 we do get to super double and for the savings Harris Teeter offers! Thank you Harris Teeter!

I do know that the outer banks HT's don't have the same flyer and specials and pricing that the rest of the state does, but that is stated on the website for clarification purposes.

I'd be mighty unhappy if my HT didn't participate but said they were and it was just the normal coupon policy in play :(

elsberry, well that's bizarre! I would make sure to call/email corporate and tell them that store is off your shopping list, no sense in supporting a store that doesn't give the customers the benefit of the special coupon event like every other store in the company chain.

I don't know how they dare say they're doing SD and it's just the regular coupon policy guiding their system - it is an empty claim by them to do so :(

I hope there is another HT within range of you!

elsberry, that is CRAZY. i didn't know specific HT's could decide not to. what a COMPLETE bummer for you!

  • elsberry Jan 10, 2011

Nancy - to clarify, they ARE doing SD's, but still won't double anything over 99 cents.

  • elsberry Jan 10, 2011

Nancy, the HT in Wake Forest (Heritage Lake) won't double anything over 99 cents. Tried it again today, with no success.

  • Nancy Jan 10, 2011

elsberry - every HT in the chain is doing SD's that I'm aware of, which HT store are you referring to?

  • Nancy Jan 10, 2011

WooHoo! Nice receipt you have there Ms. Faye! I never throw away receipts, it's one of the motivational pieces of 'stuff' that makes me happy I coupon :)

I hit HT one more time today, only had 13 places to go today on my to do list :( - seriously - as I didn't get out yesterday at all.

And I love HT, my e-vic email of specials I got mid-week included a B1G1 on the 16 oz Coffee Mate liquid creamer. I had bought 9 of them during my trips to HT so far this week as it's my hubbies addiction to low fat French Vanilla, Coffee Mate ONLY will he drink.

Soooo, of course I had to go out and get those two, free of course after coupon/doubled :) And got another raincheck for the Ziploc containers since the containers I did get had $1.50 coupons in them that don't expire for a few months and with the next SD event, I'll use my raincheck and coupons and get them at 25 cents each :)

Faye, how are you getting HT to double the $1.00 and above coupons? My local store won't double any coupon over 99 cents, even during Super Doubles.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Jan 10, 2011

Wish I could HG but I don't think I am heading back to HT before super doubles is over. Next time, ok?!

Can you go shopping with me later this week so I don't screw it all up?
