Friday freebies and giveaway 12/10!

Posted December 10, 2010

It’s Friday again so let’s start with a cheer.

Give me an F….
Give me an R…….
Give me an I…..
Give me a  D…..
Give me an A…..
Give me a  Y…….

Did I mention I was also giving something away every Friday in December?!

This week I am giving away 2 Groupon coupons for Woody’s @ City Market restaurant located at 205 Wolfe Street, Raleigh. Each Groupon is for $25.00 worth of jumbo hot wings, frosty beers, and more! This Groupon is valid only at the City Market location. Tax and gratuity not included. **These Groupon coupons expire December 22, so only enter the giveaway if you can use them before they expire.
Click HERE for the Woody’s @ City Market website.

As part of the giveaway for the week, I am issuing a Smart Shopper Pay It Forward Challenge.

To enter the giveaway you just have to do something nice and tell us about it. With all the craziness of the holidays, it’s refreshing to put a smile on someone’s face or do something that you know will help another person. Post about an act of kindness you have done this week (or promise to do in the next week). Anything counts: put some loose change in the Salvation Army kettle outside the grocery store, bring a toy to a Toys for Tots collection bin, donate a used or new coat to a child in need (donations accepted at Jiffy Lube and First Citizens Bank through the WRAL Coats for the Children program). You can bring some cookies to your favorite cashiers or send a muffin to your child’s teacher. Give another shopper one of those .55/1 printable Mueller’s coupons (I posted about them in the grocery deals on Wednesday) when you are shopping in Lowes Foods this week so they can get some 9 cent pasta. Do something really random like pay for the coffee or the even the lunch for the stranger in line behind you. Let’s put some smiles on some faces this week!

Post what you did or plan to do and you are entered in the giveaway. I’ll randomly choose the 2 winning names on Monday, December 13 at 10 AM and e-mail the coupons to the winners that same day. Good luck!

A dear friend of mine was injured last weekend and was unable to attend the TSO concert with her son. I am going to make copies of my TSO cds and give them to her to enjoy while she recuperates. I miss her!!

I stopped my mad dash out of Lowes yesterday (I was crunched to get to my daughter's haircut) and read all the Tea Labels to an older woman who started out just being someone in my way... but more appropriately became a valuable person worthy of my time.

Oh and I have made it a habit to always throw some change in the red kettles...whether it's just a few cents or a huge handful.

I drove up on an accident that had just happened last week and stopped to see an entire family in one of the cars. I stayed with them holding mom's hand and wiping blood off the little girl until the ambulance arrived. I'm glad I was there to provide some comfort.

Great challenge, Faye! I put money in the Salvation Army kettle at Harris Teeter this evening. Cleaned out my closet and have 3 garbage bags full of clothes to donate tomorrow, plus I have 2 coats to drop off at Jiffy Lube tomorrow.

I have a friend that is a single parent & lost their job in late September, so I went and purchased their little boy his Christmas presents. I also gave a box of food to them.
I can't wait to see the smile on his face when he gets to open the gifts.

well today at a retirement party I stayed after and helped clean up, I gave a bag of maternity clothes to a co worker the other day who needed them, and will plan on doing some other act of kindness this weekend at work.

Just the other day we gave our annual Christmas gift to our Mail lady! We always stick it in there and watch from the window. She is a nice lady and always comes early with our mail. We are blessed to have her!
I've also tried to give a little something every time I go into Walmart to the Salvation Army, even if it's just a little loose change which I keep in the car. (We go to Walmart ALOT) :-)
    Great challenge Faye!
