Great coupon request adventure update

Posted September 30, 2010
Updated October 1, 2010

Since the coupons are still coming in, I thought I wold post an update on my totals so far on the Great Coupon Request Adventure.

Total companies contacted: 79 (I didn't quite make it to the 100 I had hoped for, but I am still contacting them and will make it there soon!)

Total companies who have sent coupons so far: 31

Total additional companies who have said they are sending coupons, but the coupons have not yet arrived: 11

Total number of flat out "no's": 13

Total number who have not yet responded in any way: 24

Total face value of coupons received so far: $101.22

That's over $100 worth of coupons for products we use all the time! The best part is that many of them will be doubled, so the value will be more like $150 worth at the register!

I love that many companies have sent free product coupons or coupons worth so much the product will be free, like Wet Ones who sent 2 coupons for up to $3.59 off any 1 canister.  Free product coupons were sent by Dannon yogurt, Cabot cheese, Wet Ones, Michelinas, Ziploc, Lance and Clorox.

Please share if you are still receiving coupons as well If you are late to the game and want to know what I am talking about, click on the link in the box above to catch up and start your own coupon request adventure!

I successfully contacted DelMonte and Ziploc and they are both sending coupons. Ziploc even stated in their e-mail that they are sending a booklet. Oh Yeah!!! I was, however, disappointed in my response from the Nestle company. They told me in their e-mail that they do not send out coupons to their consumers. Bummer! I am still going to continue with my great coupon request adventure. What fun! :) Thanks for the great idea Faye.

They are still coming in - received 4 coupons for .35/1 Florida's Natural Orange Juice in Saturday's mail.

Also received a Kashi granola bar. Kids will be happy...think they will share it willingly? We shall see.

Hi jcook - I am so glad you are receiving some good coupons!

I hit the jackpot today in the mail! Here is what I received:

5 coupons for .50/1 various Heinz products including, 2 for ketchup, gravy, specialty sauce and steak sauce

3 FREE product coupons for Clip zbars

2 FREE product coupons for Luna bars and 2 coupons for .50/1 Luna bar

    .50/1 Peter Pan peanut butter

AND I received 2 rebate checks from Staples rewards totaling $34.96!

AND I paid $1.43 for $34.91 in groceries from Kroger with sales, coupons and a $25 prescription transfer coupon! I even splurged and bought my favorite soda, Fresca, which I am enjoying right now...for free! :-)

Faye, I have to tell you that I love contacting companies and getting free samples and coupons. I have contacted roughly 50 companies so far and have received $40.00 so far in coupons which includes some free items. I am still sending out emails and still getting coupons. I will continue my quest and thanks to you for all of your good information.

Rayne - I have updated the post to include the links fo the last 3 weeks or the adventure.

Great coupons, Erin and Ms. L! Thanks for sharing! I think I will be sending Riceworks a nice little e-mail request today. :-)

I received a stack of coupons from Canidae, who makes cat and dog food. Six $5 off a $30 or higher bag and several freebie vouchers for bags of treats. Their products are rather pricey but worth every penny - the coupons are definitely a great value. Thanks for the suggestion, I'm glad I contacted them!

I finally got my RiceWorks coupons in yesterday's mail. Initially they said that they would send me $1.00 off coupons. Instead, I got two coupons for a free bag of chips. SWEET! I'll be taking those coupons to BJ's and getting the big bag of Sea Salt RiceWorks that are usually $5.49!!

Total so far has been about $90 in coupons. I'm not complaining AT ALL! I even used some of them (Earthbound Farms, Amy's, Glen Muir, and Kashi) during the super doubles at the Teeter. Definitely worth the time to email those companies!

Faye, I would love to get involved in this. I however don't see a link available here, is there someplace else I can look for it?
