So I added 3 oz light cream cheese to our pasta tonight (in addition to the spaghetti sauce) and it was sooo goood! I did this a couple weeks ago and the kids loved it and it was still a hit today. I have seen advertisements from Philly cream cheese for adding the cream cheese to spaghetti and it really tastes great! I used Barilla Plus multigrain penne pasta, mushroom spaghetti sauce, 3 oz light cream cheese, a little garlic powder and Italian seasoning to taste and viola - so yummy! Anyone else try this yet?

I am getting hungry just thinking about the spinach enchiladas, April! Enjoy your dinner!

Hi Kim, I was a little late posting the drug store deals last night so they didn't show up on the Sunday 3 pm e-mail. If you go to the home page of the Smart Shopper blog, you can see the Drug Store deals about 3/4 down the page. Just click my face at the top of this page to get to the main Smart Shopper page. :-)

Hi Lauren, We all love sour cream here, so I have not had to substitute for it before. I did a Google search & found a good link w/substitutions. I think the plain yogurt coupled w/some cottage cheese in a blender would taste good. I also really like the cream cheese & milk blended idea. Here is the link to the site with details.

I actually had to substitute sour cream for milk a couple nights ago when I was making something that called for 3/4 cup of milk. I realized we had none so I used sour cream & water.
