Two of the area team buying websites have announced some changes this week that will save us even more money on our Triangle area outings. Team buying websites allow us to get big discounts on everything from restaurants to plays to putt-putt. Because we are buying in bulk through the team buying sites, the businesses are willing to offer big discounts which are passed onto us, the consumer.
WRAL Team Buying is changing it's name to SaveCity.com starting Monday. The same great deals will still come to your inbox, but there will be more of them and they will have a new name! Here is the info from the e-mail I received today: "Restaurants, spas, theaters and family activities – all 50 to 90% off retail prices. And when you get 3 friends to buy a deal, yours is free. SaveCity.com is where the Triangle’s big deals live, and before long you’ll be able to find SaveCity deals in Wilmington, too. So be sure to check your inbox Monday for news from SaveCity. New name, same great deals."
If you are already signed up for WRAL Team Buying, it seems you will get an e-mail on Monday with the details. If not, I will be posting the details on Monday so you don't miss any great deals!
LivingSocial (www.livingsocial.com) launches a daily deals program just for families. According to the e-mail they sent: "The LivingSocial Family Edition will offer the same great discounts users have come to expect– now with a family-friendly focus. Kicking off in Washington, D.C., Raleigh, the Twin Cities and Southern Connecticut, parents can enjoy considerable cost savings (sometimes up to 90%) to local zoos, museums, day trips, aquariums, art classes, and more. It’s the perfect (and inexpensive) way to discover your city with your tots or teens in tow. A new Family deal is announced every Monday. Additionally, on a select week, when you buy a LivingSocial Family Edition Deal, Cheerios® will send you one extra deal for free, so you can bring grandma or a playdate." Isn't that awesome that Cherrios is sponsoring an extra free deal so you can bring someone else?!
In addition, if you are not already aware, there are 2 other team buying sites that offer deals here in the Triangle, Groupon.com and Twongo.com. Both offer awesome buys for activities and dining throughout the week and I have been using them for months. I recommend you sign up for all 4 team buying sites so you can check out the deals and decide which ones you want. Our family has been on all sorts of adventures using team buying deals including many restaurant meals for at least 50% off, canoeing, go-carting, putt-putt and laser tag at Adventure Landing and more.
I can't wait to see what SaveCity.com and LivingSocial family edition have to offer!
