I made some pretty good purchases yesterday. Bill was $34 but spent $16. I did get 2 packages of the buy one get one free ribeyes. Can't wait to grill those!

Thanks, Faye. I am trying to stock my cabinets in case times get leaner. I'd rather have too much food than not enough.

Wow - free coupons! Very sweet!

Great job on your savings, Gucci!

I am SO addicted! I love this! I was in Va Beach this weekend, and they do something I wish we could do here.

They give away their classified section, and it was filled with coupons. I didn't even have to buy the paper. Awesome!

I saved $67 yesterday alone! This rocks. :)

Nancy maybe you are right. Who knows. I usually try to look for that stuff so folks don't miss out on their coupons and I didn't notice one, but they do come out slowly so it could have been the other person's. Hopefully it was mine and not theirs but I can't do anything about it now. I'll spend it in their honor. ha!

I think its interesting when folks talk about certain stores not doubling the ones that say DND. I (thankfully) don't have any trouble w/that at the 2 I go to. In fact, the last time the cashier told me, oh you know these won't double b/c they say DND. I just said oh ok because I knew they would. I've done it there before and sure enough, they did. I thought it was nice of her to try and warn me but since the weekend before I had had such an awful time there with the nabisco coupon for a free bag of cookies if I bought one + milk, I didn't bother telling her I knew they would work.

I donated through a food drive with our religious organization on Saturday but Nancy is exactly right. There are food pantries at many churches. You can also donate to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC in Raleigh. Here is their website and a link to a number of upcoming food drives:

Scroll down near the bottom of this page to see where you can donate food at one of their branches:

Copy and paste this link to see upcoming special events including a food drive at Ken's corn maze where you get a discount when you bring food to donate.

cjohnson- check with your local churches too, many of them collect food for families within their congregation (local help reaching local needs). I do this too as well as my neighbors.

6 months ago I donated food and personal needs to my neighbors, then taught them how to coupon, now they donate because they get so much for so little! They were in dire straights 6 months ago with 3 teenagers, hubby out of work and wife can't work because of MS, now they donate :)

    Paying it forward !

That's a great idea Faye! Where is the food bank that we can donate to. I've got some cereal and many other items that I can spare for those that are needy? Thanks for all your hard work helping us find these awesome deals!

Great savings, cjohnson! I agree about the potatoes and soup - already sent some to the food bank on Saturday.

I think tonight is it for me as well. I went to the HT on the corner of Stonehenge and Creedmore. They seemed to be stocked with most everything except potatos and $2.99 beef. It sounds as if there may be a delivery tonight because one of the clerks told me that some of the items I was looking for would be in tomorrow. All together I got $88.22 for $6.09 which is a 93.1% savings. I think I have enough potatos and soup to last me till next year!!
