HT super doubles rumor!

Posted September 9, 2010

I heard from a Harris Teeter employee yesterday that there will be super doubles starting next Wednesday, September 15. I also received an e-mail from Quinn today saying that an employee at a different store confirmed super doubles as well. Thanks Quinn!  I have not seen the ad myself so it is not officially confirmed, but I pass on the info so you can start getting your coupons in order.

Here are the coupon policies duing Super Doubles:

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM. (at least that is how it has worked in the past)

* HT will Super Double coupons worth up to $1.98 face value. A $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00. A $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00. A $2.00 coupon will not double at all and will only be taken at face value ($2.00).

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per day. Period. End of story. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have 20 $1 coupons and 20 .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 under $1 coupons and super double another 20 coupons that are over $1.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three.

Here's the unsolicited advice I offer before every coupon promotion like this.  It is especially helpful if you are new to super doubles: Keep in mind that the best deals go quickly and unless you are there at the crack of dawn, they will already be out of a lot of the best deals. They will restock as they receive product, but it is rare for anyone to get all the deals they wanted. My thought on this is that I am grateful for the deals I am able to get and I realize that there will be another good deal soon. I don't complain to the managers because that just encourages them to NOT want to offer these awesome promotions. You can also ask when the next truck will be in so you can time your shop to coincide with the new shipment. If you are so inclined, I also recommend that you call corporate or write them a note after you have shopped to thank them for offering the promotion.

If anyone else has any advice to offer that might help make super doubles easier and more productive for those new to the super doubles adventure - now's the time!

Become a member of Sav-A-Lot smart shopper club and get a $5 off of $25 coupon. I believe that HT will accept this and we can all make our super double week even more SUPER! Printed mine this morning and it is good until 9/26/2010.

Just to give folks a heads up - did a mystery shop at a Lowes Foods today, there are two coupon booklets in special displays.

One is Right At Home in the cleaning aisle, has $30 worth of coupons that have expiration dates of December 31, 2010. The other is Better At Home with $15 worth of coupons that do not expire until October 25th and was near the dairy dept and has coupons for General Mills products.

Many would be great to use for SD :)

chc - please know that some of us genuinely appreciate your work, every day but especially through coupon events! I always thank the cashiers/baggers, stockers, everyone because I know how hard it must be.

My wish for you is that you only interact with coupon customers who truly appreciate your effort and do not give you a hard time at all!

The California pizza's have coupons on them out there, California are blinkies found at Food Lion (when, I can't remember!) and that will still be on sale, if I'm not mistaken they are 2/$10, so the $1 blinkie would make a California pizza $3.

Not a great price but if you like their pizza, much better than retail :)
