75% off CVS summer clearance including some toys!

Posted September 5, 2010

I was at my local CVS this afternoon (located at I-40 and Hwy. 42 between Garner and Clayton) and the summer clearance is now at 75% off! Check your local store to see if their clearance is at 75% off as well.

Here are some of the items I saw (and many I purchased to give as gifts for upcoming birthdays, holidays and tooth fairy visits!):

Hula hoops marked down to $1.99

Makeup kits marked down to $2.50

Kick balls marked down to .49

Disney purse set with sunglasses and fake lipstick and fake eye shadow for $1.99

Remote control cars with 2 AA batteries for $2.50

Eye Candy 300 piece hair care set (with barrettes, pony tail holders, hair rubber bands marked down to .74

Bug collection kits for $1.00

Off-brand crocks shoes

Flip flops

Matchbox cars

Nerf ball guns

Lots of bubble wands, bubble guns, bubble machines, etc

Summer plastic and ceramic dishware

Plastic tubs of summer snacks like cheese balls and pretzel mix were .62, I think

My subtotal before sales was $37.58.  My total after 75% discount and $1.99 in ECB's I used was $7.85 AND I paid using a CVS gift card earned from rolling credit card reward points.  Total paid for $37 worth of toys = Zero!

And Jennifer, it was great to meet you today!

It would be great if everyone could share what their CVS summer clearance is marked down to and the location of your stores. Not all CVS stores mark down at the same schedule so yours may still be at 50%.

THANK YOU FAYE!! I just made the rounds to four CVS stores to pick up the ice cream dishes I've been eyeing; I'm going to use them for my son's birthday party next year and I'm so excited. I couldn't justify paying full price for them but at 75% off I had to get them!

harrelsond, I have a credit card that offers a reward program and issues point for every dollar spent. I use those points to get store gift cards like CVS, Target and Walmart to save even more at the grocery and drug stores. Because I have a no fee credit card and we pay it off every single month, we pay no fees or interest. I don't recommend this for folks who carry a balance at all or tend to spend more if they are charging a purchase. It only works well for those who are disciplined with spending and pay off their credit card every month. Hope that helps!

Faye, I am sure you have explained the rolling cc points to a cvs gc but I missed it. Will you explain it again or tell me where it is? Thanks, Dorine
