    Thanks HappyGirl. I thought I got short-changed.

  • HappyGirl08 Aug 23, 2010

Only one flyer of coupons in my N&O Sunday. :-(

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 23, 2010

Usually the Durham Herald has the coupons in them. Sometimes, though, if the paper runs out of coupon inserts, those papers that go into the paper boxes may get shorted. My understanding is that they make sure that those with subscriptions get the inserts first. Then if they run out, it's the papers sold at stores and in the coin operated paper boxes that may not have all the inserts. When I do want an extra copy of the paper, I always buy a copy inside the store so I can look first to make sure the coupons are in the paper before I pay. I don't buy out of the coin operated boxes.

Faye - I bought a Durham Herald Sun paper today specifically for the coupons and there were NO coupons - just ads. Is that typical? Do only some papers carry Sunday coupons? Or are there only coupons on some Sundays? Bummer..

Awesome savings, ac! And so good of you to donate to the troops. Thanks for sharing! I took advantage of the .39 school supply deals at Walgreens today. The last thing we needed from the school supply list was tabbed dividers and I have been holding out waiting for a sale because I just can't bring myself to pay $3 - $4 for tabbed dividers. I was very happy to see them on sale for .39 at Walgreens this week! Grabbed a few more packs of filler paper and index cards and we are ready to start school!

I LOVED the drugstore deals today. I did really well at CVS, spending $8.99 but saving $34.69, plus $5.00 ECB! We're collecting items to support the troops at work and I got lots of stuff for that, plus Mentos gum and hair stuff for myself.
