I stumbled upon a fabulous unadvertised deal on boneless skinless chicken breast at my Lowes Foods today. They were on sale for $1.49 per pound in the larger 4.5 - 5.5 lb packs. AND I happened to have a couple $1 off chicken coupons from a tearpad display found in a store a few weeks ago. My total ended up being $1.26 per lb! I bought 14 lbs worth at that price! We are cooking up one of the 4.5 lb packs right now to have for dinner tonight and Monday night. I am going to freeze the rest for dinners in the next couple weeks. I have already frozen the other 2 value packs to use in the next month or two.
The value packs were leftover from the the $1.99/lb sale last week and they are just trying to move them. I doubt other Lowes Foods have them on sale for this price.
There were still some packs left when I was there this evening if you want to try to get a few before they are gone. I was at the Lowes Foods at Middle Creek Commons at the intersection of Hwy 50 and Hwy 42 in the 40/42 area. Warning - they were going fast so they may be gone by the time you get there.
Hurray for a great surprise chicken deal!
