Grocery Deals 8-4

Posted August 4, 2010
Updated August 5, 2010

Harris Teeter is rolling out some heavy duty e-vic deals this week with great buys on Pampers and Huggies, and facial tissues! Peaches are also on sale at HT for .49/lb! To top it off, they have some great buys on Kellogg’s items with the 50% off sale and coupons! Did I mention the 46 cent Peter Pan and Nutrigrain bars for 27 cents at HT? It's not triples, but it sure seems like it!

It’s a peach war between Whole Foods and HT. Local peaches will be .49/lb at Triangle area Whole Foods stores on Friday, 8/6. Whole Foods also has an excellent price on tofu, in case you were in need.

Lowes Foods has a new set of 3-week coupons out that are good through August 24. There are some good deals on Orville popcorn and Betty Crocker brownies and more. They also have a great buy on split chicken breast.

Kroger is running the P&G promo again this week with good deals on a number of bath and beauty items. They also have some really big ears of corn this week (that tasted delicious!).

There are good produce deals everywhere so enjoy it while it's at this price!

As always, links to the printable coupons can be found in the box above. Click the "More" tab to see the second page of coupons.

Harris Teeter Coupon Policy Basics:

Doubles coupons .99 or less everyday

Doubles up to 20 coupons per day

Doubles up to 3 identical coupons (must have required product to go with each coupon)

BOGO sales ring up at half price. If you just buy one, it still rings up at half price. The policy states that you can only use ONE coupon on a BOGO deal. So, if you buy 2 items that are BOGO, you can only use one coupon total.

Catalina Deal: Buy any 10 Kellogg's, Keebler, Sunshine, Eggo, and Morningstar Farms products 3.8 oz or larger, any flavor, mix and match in one shopping order, save $10 on a future order. Valid 8/1/10-8/14/10. (thanks to www.afullcup.com for the details on the deal). There are a number of Kellogg’s products on sale 50% off that couple well with coupons to make this a great deal! The $10 coupon prints out at the register after you have bought the 10 items. I have done this deal 3 times now and it works beautifully!  Combine the recent insert coupons and printable coupons for Kellogg's cereals and granola bars and the 50% sale on the cereal and the deals are fabulous! Please share your buys using this Catalina deal as well! The printable coupon links are in the box above.

Has anyone done the kellogg's catlina deal at lowes' food?

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2010

Hi Joan - The stores don't all restock on the same days. Ask customer service when the next truck with Kellogg's cereal is coming in. They should be able to tell you or find out. My store restocks on Tuesday nights and Friday nights so I know the shelves are in their best shape on Wednesday mornings and Saturday mornings.

It's good of you to not want to clear the shelves. I have been very impressed at the stock at the stores I visited. The Cameron Village shelves were low on Nutrigrain bars this afternoon, but an employee found another display for me on another aisle. There was still a bunch of cereal.

  • joanclabough Aug 5, 2010

Does anyone know when Harris Teeter restocks during the week? I think I have seen this information somewhere, but I can no longer find it! After some of family heard of the great deal on Kellogg's products they wanted me to purchase some for them, but I don't want to take the entire stock of Kellogg's cereal!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2010

The purchases do need to be in the same transaction for you to get the Fresh Rewards. Some stores will let you use more than than 2 IP's - you can ask at the register. I was planning on using 2 IP's and a .75/2 coupon I have.

  • t0tAlChA0s Aug 5, 2010

johnajenk- I had no trouble using 4 IP at the same time today at Lowes. You do have to buy 4 in the same transaction to get the deal.

  • johnajenk Aug 5, 2010

Quick question about the Lowes Fresh Rewards: The scenario you gave about buying 4 of the Natures Valley....I only have IP coupons and their policy says that you can only use 2 IPs per transaction. So, if I use two, then go back and do a separate transaction for another two to equal 4 purchases, do I still get the Fresh Rewards? i.e. do the purchases have to be in a single transaction to give you the rewards? Thanks!!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2010

Great job tnpirate! Thank you for sharing your savings. :-)

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2010

I just added a link to the coupon box above for $1/2 Nutrigrain bars and $1/2 cinnabon coupons. It let me print 2 of each coupon.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 5, 2010

I think the printable pop tarts coupons are all gone. They are no longer available at the site I posted above so they must have hit the number they were willing to offer.

I hit the HT at Cameron Village today after we taped the evening news segment and bought 8 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats and Crispix cereal, 2 boxes of Nutrigrain bars and paid .... 68 cents! I used a $10 Cat I received yesterday and just rolled it into another 10 items and used 4 coupons for $1.00/2 cereals (2 different coupons) and 2 coupons for .75/1 Nutrigrain. I earned another $10 Cat that I will roll into another 10 items tomorrow. :-) We are set for the next few months on cereal (and so is my Dad and a neighbor who just lost her job). Thank you HT!

  • tnpirate98 Aug 5, 2010

For my second trip to stock up on all the breakfast deals I got 6 boxes of Special K (I had 3 coupons for $1 off 2 boxes), 6 boxes of Pop Tarts (I had coupons $1 off 2 boxes) and 3 boxes of Nutrigrain bars (I had 3 of the .75 cent off coupons that doubled). I used my Kellogg's $10 off my next purchase so my total was $2.19!!! I will not have to buy breakfast food for a very long time!
