Monday meal plan 8-2

This is kid's week and the girls picked a number of the meals on the plan. Little do they know they will be helping with the meals they requested!

Veggie Burgers (oldest daughter's choice)- Morningstar veggie burgers on sale at Target for $3.00 AND they are Buy 4 Get One Free AND there are $1.00/2 coupons from 8/1 inserts. I have .75/1 coupons from an in-store display found a couple months ago so my price per box = $1.80 per box after sale and coupon for 5 boxes - a good price for veggie burgers!

Tomato and cucumber salad - 'maters from our garden and cukes from my friend Sherri's garden

Grilled chicken and hamburgers  (chicken was $1.99/lb on sale a couple weeks ago)

Grilled yellow squash from the garden

Corn (Kroger has GIANT ears of corn on sale this week for .33 each - not the lowest price ever, but the ears at my Kroger were really huge!)

Chopped Salad Bar (lots of salad ingredients cut in small cubes lined up in individual bowls buffet style so everyone gets to make their own salad. Ingredients (all chopped)  include lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, green peppers, carrots, red onions, black olives, sunflower seeds, croutons, hard boiled eggs, cheese)  Kraft salad dressing was bought at HT on sale BOGO with .55/1 printable coupon. Sale good through 8/3.

Broccoli (on sale $1.69 a bunch at Food Lion through 8/3)

Peaches ( on sale at Lowes Foods for .79/lb and HT for .99/lb through 8/3)

Hubby is making dinner while I chat about the upcoming Tax Free Weekend on the 6:00 PM news.

Bagels and cream cheese (cream cheese free during Kroger promo a couple weeks ago) with tomatoes, onion

Fruit salad

Pizza night (using the Roasted Veggie Mystic Pizzas from the HT Meal Deal good through 8/3 - I had $1.50/1 printable coupons that are no longer available that brought the price down to $3.50 per pizza plus all the free items that came with the meal deal)

Fruit- depends on what is on sale starting Wednesday - maybe watermelon from the local roadside stand

Not quite sure yet - my brother and nephew will be visiting from out of state so we may go out to dinner (using a coupon, of course!)

Hummus and pita bread (Athenos hummus was on sale last week for $1 - BOGO coupons ordered from thecouponclippers.com = .50 each - a great price!)
