kpeele, if it were me, I'd see if there were other RA's you could shop with that might have some knowledge of the system or at least not act so clueless!

Have to tell you a funny one I read on one of the boards. A lady tried to use VV coupons and the cashier told her she couldn't use them because she didn't buy any videos!!

Good gracious, somebody needs to train their employees better!

If someone had said that to me I wouldn't know if I would laugh hysterically or get upset and just ask to speak with the manager...makes you really wonder why they have a job as cashiers doesn't it?

  • kpeele Jul 14, 2010

Thanks, Nancy and Faye! I know I can always count on you ladies to help us out!! I shopped at 2 different RA stores last week and I didn't escalate to talking with the manager so my coupons were at the discretion of the cashiers. It would just be nice to know that I could count on being able to use the coupons a certain way each time instead of having to guess how it might all work out. If I am not able to consistently use the UP rewards on future purchases it's probably not going to be worth it to even consider their value when deciding if I will make the original purchase. And it seems like the UP rewards expire at the end of RA's monthly cycle(?) so earning UP rewards in the last week of their month really might not be worth it.

Thank you again for your help!

I'm with Nancy on this one - YMMV (your mileage may vary depending on the store and cashier). I have also used all 3 (VV, Up and MQ) in a single transaction with no issues. I am sending your question directly to my Rite Aid marketing contact and will post his response, kpeele. Thanks for your question and thanks for helping her out, Nancy!

Thanks for posting the pain relief patch deal, mcqueenmommy!

kpeele, I'm not Faye but I have to tell you that the new Wellness program with the UP rewards is getting multiple interpretations depending on which store you go to. It's a mess, they didn't write clear policy obviously and it seems that each store interprets it as they see fit. The only thing you can do is find a store that allows VV coupon to be stacked with MQ - which IS allowed, that policy did not change.

I personally have used VV, MQ and UP rewards quite easily in a single transaction, but again, it depends on the particular store and it's managements interpretation.

At Walgreens - in ad coupon for Salonpas Pain Relief Patch for .99 less printable coupon on coupons.com 1.00 = FREE

Faye, is there any official info from Rite Aid about how the new UP rewards can be used with MF & RA coupons? I did several transactions there last week & got multiple interpretations of what's allowed. One helpful cashier said I could use one RA & one MF coupon for each item but then I didn't exactly understand/agree with his interpretation of how that played out. And I'd like to know if you can use multiple UP rewards in one transaction. I bought 2 nail polishes that were BOGO half off. It totaled to $8 & I was planning to use a $5 UP reward & a $2 up reward but he said that wouldn't work (but he said you can use multiple UP rewards as long as it doesn't go over the total). Also, the VV coupons were considered MF coupons and not RA coupons so I couldn't stack the two contact solution coupons I had. And I couldn't use a $5/25 with an UP reward. Just wondering if this is a YMMV deal or if there is more clear info from corporate so I'll know if it's worth considering the UP rewards.
