Today's Super Doubles total!

Posted June 26, 2010

I did a little Super Doubles shopping at Harris Teeter after the class at Wake Tech today and scored some fab deals - here are the totals and the picture of the groceries I bought.

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $85.09

Total saved: $84.06

Total spent: $1.03

% saved: 99%!

In addition to using a coupon for each item, I also used a $5 off $60 catalina (register) coupon that printed out at Food Lion earlier in the week and a number of the free product coupons I received from the Kraft First Taste of Summer coupon book I posted on the blog a few weeks ago. I also used a free Wholly Guacamole coupon my daughter was sent for winning the youngest entry award on the Facebook Wholly Guac jingle contest I also posted about on the blog a couple weeks ago. She came up with the jingle so I posted her entry through my Facebook account and indicated that it was my 8 year old who created it and she won the youngest entry award. They sent us a couple of free coupons as well as a cooler, apron, mini first aid kit and more!

Today I shopped at the HT at Kildaire Farm and Ten Ten Road and I was very impressed. The customer service from the young cashier Bryan was excellent and the customer service manager, John, who did the overrides for the free coupons was super friendly and supportive of the whole coupon thing. I was really pleasantly surprised with the amount of product they had in the store on at Saturday during super doubles. Hurray for Super Doubles!

Feel free to post any other Super Double totals or stories on this thread since the first thread has moved to the next page.

Also - here's a shout out to the ladies who took the Coupon Camp at Wake Tech today. It was great to spend the day with you and I can't wait to hear all about your savings! Wasn't that nice of Lowes Foods to give away the recyclable grocery bags to everyone on our fun little field trip?

Thanks for all the kind feedback on the class ladies! I can;t wait to hear about your savings!

A - I'll check to see if she has a website. From what I understand, she sells them at street fair and festivals.

Your friend that made the key ring for your MVP, CVS, VIC cards does she have a website that you can order from?

I took the coupon on Saturday and I was amazed. When I first signed up I was thinking there is no way it's going to take 6 hours to talk about coupons you just cut them out and go shopping boy was I wrong!!! Faye does an excellent job!!!

I attended the Coupon Camp on Saturday. I am amazed at the amount of useful information that was provided. I plan to put it into practice. Thanks Faye for all your insight. I've gotten my binder set up and I'm ready to tackle the sales.

Betty - you are so incredibly kind! Thank you for your generous comments. I loved having you in the class on Saturday! You and Julie are going to rock the grocery stores together. :-) Keep us updated on your savings.

Wasn't Any at Lowes Foods so nice? That was very sweet of him to give away swag bags to everyone! What did you think about the field trip? Was it helpful?

Totally off topic - I am so glad Joan didn't have something more serious going on, aren't you? I know she is bummed about not deploying, but good news about her brain. Obviously I was filing my coupons while watching Army Wives as well!

I was one of the lucky ladies who attended Faye's class on Saturday. I can not begin to tell you how much I learned and what a positive effect this will have on my family across the board...this leads to so much more than just free groceries(which is great). This will free up income to help us retire early, pay off our mortgage and so much more.

I shudder at the thought of how much money I have thrown away by not taking advantage of couponing over the years. I recomemend this class to anyone who shops for anything. This was a truly amazing learning experince and Faye rocks as an instructor and is just a great person.

Faye I have my three ring binder all set up, which I did while watching Army Wives. I'm going to go online and see if I can find a few more coupons, the cooler is in my trunk and I'm off to the stores after work this afternoon. I will let you know how I do.

    Warm Regards,
    Betty Haley

Glad you had a good customer service experience at that HT, Faye. I hit the North Ridge HT twice for Super Dubs and had negative experiences both times. I called corporate customer service after the first one and was told they'd relay my complaint to the store manager, who would contact me, and I've gotten no phone call. I sent a message via the HT website yesterday. The good news is that at least they were well stocked both times and I was able to get everything I went for.

We went to the Harris Teeter in Fuquay last night, and spent only $7.64 on $54 worth of groceries. Several items we were looking for were already sold out, but I plan to make a return trip tomorrow. We stocked up on toothpaste, shaving gel, salad dressings, BBQ sauce, tinfoil, yogurt, rice, shampoo, strawberry milk, grape jelly, potato chips, Chex mix, and some frozen foods. Thanks for providing the list of deals each time to get us started!
