They took my .75/3 coupon with no issues, which was very nice of them to do. Thank you Mr. Teeter. :-)

Did anyone ever figure out how HT is handling the Idahoan special B2G3 with the $.75/3 coupon? Thanks!!!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper May 27, 2010

Thanks for the heads up on the spare ribs, Shaking! What an odd place for them to be located.

  • Shaking My Head In Amusement May 27, 2010

WalMart also has Smithfields Pork Spare Ribs for $1.79/lb. That's cheaper than most have advertised for $1.99/lb this week. I didn't find them in the meat section, I found them in the back area near like the milk/eggs/yogurt/etc where they have the open coolers with random juice/lunchmeat/bacon/etc in them. I wasn't particularly looking in the meat section, either. I just happened to be walking by and said, "Oh! That's cheaper than Kroger this week!" They were averaging $7.50-$9/rack and were saying "self-basting" for anyone who might care for that. I usually marinade in a rub or pineapple juice first before braising & grilling. Now I want ribs this weekend. :-)

lilypony - I have not had the same experience with the Fresh Rewards Cash program that you described. I always get the full amount of the reward when I buy the required amount of qualifying items, but never received partial credit for only buying a few. I'll have to ask corporate about that. If you bring in bags for them to bag your groceries you will earn 5 cents FRC for each bag they use which could account for some of the smaller numbers. Not sure about .63 though - does seem like an odd number!

When it comes to BOGO - most grocery and drug stores except HT allow 2 coupons on 2 BOGO items. HT is very clear in their policy that they only allow one coupon per bogo deal so I don't post deals using 2 coupons on 2 items in a bogo deal. Most HT's wil let you just buy 1 item of a bogo sale (which rings half price) and let you use 1 coupon, which will double if .99 or less.

    Thanks for posting!

I added the good deals from the Walmart flyer this week to the list above. :-)

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper May 27, 2010

y7uy7u - Thank you for offering the additional deal on corn at Target. I appreciate your willingness to post other deals I may not have posted. That is the point of this blog - to share deals and help each other because sometimes I may miss a deal. Although Walmart generally is one of the more expensive stores in our area because they don’t double coupons or offer great BOGO sales, they do have a few decent sales each week. I have posted their good produce buys many times on the blog as well as their consistently good frozen seafood prices (usually around $4/lb). They also offer a number of produce buys at $1.00 or less /lb each week including apples. I’ll be sure to include their best buys from the sales flyer in future weeks. Feel free to contribute any other deals you may find so we can all help each other in a friendly and positive forum.

Thanks to everyone for your additional deals! That's the point of this blog - so we can all help each other save the most amount on our purchases.

    Faye,

Thank you for taking time and providing us this info. I look forward for your posts on Sunday and Wednesday regularly. Also your tips on gardening are great. Please keep continuing this postings.

  • KLW May 26, 2010

Actually you wouldn't get the overage, purplepat, because it would only take off 50 cents per can since that's the cost of the item. But it would at least be free, and free is great!
