Post your Harris Teeter Super Doubles deals, share your totals & celebrate your inner coupon genius here!

These are my totals from the Wednesday shop:

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $69.51

Total saved: $67.11

Total paid: $2.40

Percent saved: 96%

AND I earned a register coupon good for $1.50 off my next order (also known as an OYNO coupon - on your next order).  There is a Catalina (register coupon) deal when you buy 2 McCormick spices you get an OYNO for $1.50 and when you buy 3 or more you get $2.50 OYNO coupon. after sales, coupons and rebate coupon (OYNO) = .90!

I have included pictures of the products I bought, the receipt and the OYNO coupon I earned in the box above.

Here is the breakdown:

3 boxes Kashi cereal - on sale $3.00 - $1.50 coupon from campaign doubled = FREE

Kraft mac and cheese $1.35 - FREE product coupon from a Friday freebies deal I posted a couple weeks ago. Hopefully you all received yours as well.

Zest 3 bar $2.79 - $1 coupon from home mailer (signed up for it a while ago) = .79

2 packs of Ivory soap, 3 bar $1.55 - $1 coupon from same home mailer above = FREE

3 bags of Kruncher tater chips $2.50 - $1 coupon = .50 each

2 McCormick cinnamon $1.89 - $1 coupons = FREE (AND I earned $1.50 OYNO coupon)

Uncle Ben's Whole Grain ready rice $2.19 - free product coupon from a Friday Freebies sign-up I posted a couple weeks ago = FREE

Capri Sun Sunrise $2.75 - $1 coupon = .75

Pert Mens 3 in 1 $3.65 - $1.50 = .65

3 packages of Wholly Guacamole (I am really happy to get it this time. They have been out for the last few times they were free with coupons) $1.89 - $1.50 printable and $1 coupons from paper = FREE  (FYI - the $1.50 printable coupon from the wholly guac website is not scanning. The cashier manually enterered the bar code and it went through, but if it doesn't scan, they may not take it. I am going to contact wholly guac about the coupon not scanning.)

3 boxes Mystic Pizza Fire Roasted Veggies and Cheese $3.00 - $1.50 printable coupon (coupon link can be found on the HT good deals list I posted Sunday on this blog. The link to the deals list is in the box above.) = FREE

Minute Maid Orange Juice $2.47 - $1 coupon (from a coupon book I got a while ago but don't remember where!) = .47

I also had a $2 OYNO coupon which brought the total down to $2.40. with tax  :-)

You will also notice that I checked out at 7:06 AM this morning. I was there bright and early today because I wanted to be home in time to make the kids a hearty egg and cheese tortilla roll up breakfast before bringing them to school. This is EOG (end of grade) testing week for the kids and I wanted to keep our routine as normal as possible and make sure they had a good breakfast. That meant getting to the store at 6:30 this morning so I could be home in time to keep us on schedule. It worked out well though because there was only 1 other couponer when I arrived and I found everything I had hoped to buy! The things we will do for free Kashi cereal and free guacamole! :-)

Happy super doubles everyone!

Big shout out to Marty Miller!!! woohoo

  • aprilmiller May 25, 2010

UNBELIEVABLE! There were a few good deals that sold out this week and I missed them. So I checked back periodically to see if a re-stock happened (wish I knew when those trucks came in!) Anyway, I dropped in the HT on High House and Davis in Cary and found a man on his hands and knees placing a few precious jars of 28 oz. Classico Sauce on the shelf. Oh Joy! I got one and then turned to find the Single Portions of Velveeta Shells on the shelf as well! Overjoyed! In my delight I started a conversation with the man still on his hands and knees to find out he was the store manager Marty Miller. Marty then pointed to his cart full of empty shopping bags from Target, Food Lion, and Lowes! Can you believe Marty is sooo committed to you and I getting those great deals that he shops and purchases the items at full price so you and I can get them for free??? Unbelievable. I am so impressed I just had to share.

I think I am going to cry with all your kind feedback, KLW and tot! You've made my very long day!

lmessick - I did get your e-mail and I will have a chance to respond personally tomorrow. No time this weekend. You are so right - some days the sales will be amazing and some days the sales will just be really really good. In the end we are ALL paying less than we used to - a fabulous thing to remember. :-)

  • KLW May 23, 2010 hit the nail on the head. And if you have the opportunity to attend one of Faye's workshops, you'll be so amazed at the knowledge you'll come away with (plus she's a phenomenal speaker). I am a pretty experienced couponer, but I still learned several tips at her workshop and it was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone. I guess some days will be super, super savings and some days will just be super savings. I'll get the hang of it. :D

I just went for round 2 and got everything I wanted. I had the e-VIC special for a 44-oz. jar of Classico pasta sauce for $2.99, and I had a $1.50 coupon so it would be free. We have all the pasta sauce we would need for several months, so I wanted to get this big jar to donate for a family to enjoy. Initially I was disappointed, but not surprised, when the place on the shelf for it was bare. But as I started to walk away, I saw a jar that someone had put back in the wrong place! So my good deed can be done after was like it was meant to be.

Ismessick- You did good! I have only been couponing a few months. But I was the same way when I first started. I just could not understand how everyones out of pocket was so low. I thought I would never be able to do it. I was spending more money just trying to figure out how to save. lol

For me, I was glued to every word Faye said. I read her whole web site, I read all the comments from everyone on this blog and took alot of notes. After I kind of got the hang of it, I was finally able to take Faye's workshop. It just takes practice. The more you do it, the better you get at it. I print out Faye's good deals list every week and of the stuff I need, I write the value of the coupon I have for the item, then what total I should pay for that item. I get an idea of my total before I get to the store. That seems to help me. You are doing good to save a dollar. In a couponers world, a dollar sure can buy alot sometimes!!!

  • KLW May 21, 2010 did GREAT!!! That is 53% savings. Don't worry so much about comparing your success to others' numbers. Everyone buys different products and has different shopping habits. If there are items you can get for free but they're items you won't use and don't want to donate, there's no point in getting them just to make your numbers better. And it's too easy to buy items just because you have a coupon...but spending money to save money is counterproductive. So just do the best you can on the items that you and your family actually use or that you want to donate to charity. And don't worry so much about one week's shopping's the big picture and the lifestyle change of frugality and spending your money more wisely, as a whole, that really matters and adds up. You didn't do anything "wrong" by any means!!!!!

  • lsmessick May 21, 2010

I was wrong, my subtotal was $61.05.

  • KLW May 21, 2010

total...will do! I went on Wednesday and plan on just one more time, on Sunday when the new coupons come out. We were on vacation in Arizona last week (FABULOUS trip) so I've been busy trying to get caught up around the house and such...and then there's our swap I think Sunday will do it for me.
