Walmart

May 2 - May 8

I had a little extra time to head to Walmart and compare produce prices for the week so here are the better buys.  As is normally the case, they had some very good prices on some items and some very high prices on others.

Roma tomatoes $1.50/lb - good price for tomatoes right now (.99 at Kroger this week for on the vine tomatoes)

Strawberries, 16 oz $1.38 - very good price compared to grocery stores this week (but probably not as tasty as those picked yourself at local farms right now!)

Cantaloupe $1.26 each - very good price compared to grocery stores this week

Green apples .73/lb - very good price

Red delicious apples $1.37/lb

Pineapple $2.88 each

Carrots, 1 lb bag .74

Green pepper .98 each

Broccoli crowns $1.68/lb

Mushrooms, whole, 8 oz $1.78

I also noticed some good regular prices on other items including:

Tilpapia fillets, frozen, 16 oz $3.98

Salmon fillets, frozen, 16 oz $4.48

Great Value Orange Juice 64 oz $1.98

Milk $2.78/gallon (good regular price for milk right now)

Eggs, 1 dozen $1.28 (Kroger has 18 count for $1.66 this week, which is cheaper per egg)

Keep in mind that your Walmart may have different prices. These prices are from the location at 40/42 between Garner and Clayton in Johnston County.

Pat - I believe the picture on the coupon link is for Steamfresh but the wording on the coupon is for any Green Giant Frozen Veggie item. I have already printed and used the coupon so I don't have it in front of me anymore.

For the Duso coupon you have to click on the word "Coupons" at the top of the page, then register then print coupon.

  • purplepat777 May 6, 2010

And the Green Giant boxed veggies coupon takes me to a coupon for Green Giant Steamfresh veggies, not boxed. Can it be used on the boxes?

  • purplepat777 May 6, 2010

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I don't see a Cheez-It Duo coupon (nor any Cheez-it coupon) when I click on the above link. :(

  • itsmyownopinion May 6, 2010

I found that Kroger ice-cream is really quite good, IMO, when Kroger recently ran the special for a purchase of five (5) Marie Callender's or Healthy Choice frozen entrees and receive Kroger ice-cream (48 oz) free with purchase.
