Grocery Deals 4-14

Posted April 14, 2010

The top deal of the week is for Huggies Diapers at Harris Teeter. They are on sale for $5.99 plus there is a $3.00 printable coupon making them $2.99 each - an excellent price!!

There are also fabulous deals on meat and produce from just about all the stores this week.  It's an especially good week for chicken leg quarters at .49/lb at both Lowe's Foods and Kroger. This is one of those weeks where no one store has a monopoly on the good deals. All the stores have good stock up buys on various products. Might be a week where I do a small to medium shop at each one!

Bad news - Looks like the $3 Huggies diaper coupon is out of prints and is no longer available. I hope you all had a chance to print it!

  • Betty Freitag Apr 16, 2010

Nancy, I checked my store FL flyer again & it shows coke products 4/$5 so my store does not have them for .89 this week. Thank you.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 16, 2010

Thanks for answering Betty's question Nancy!

J - great job stocking up on the markdown meats!

no t/u - congrats on the baby - I hope you have a wonderful rest of the pregnancy! That Huggies deal is really excellent - definitely one to stock up on!

  • nothankyou Apr 16, 2010

I have been printing the Huggies coupon, have my friends printing it for me too. I am expecting in July...stocking up! AWESOME price!

  • j3434 Apr 16, 2010

i LOVE it when i run into discounted meats b/c it's the day they "expire" according to the price tag. last night i really stocked up at the ht at kings grant on ribs, pork chops, and chicken to freeze.

  • Nancy Apr 16, 2010

Betty, yes the FL ad online shows the .89 two liter Coke products, again, make sure you're selecting your particular store to see their flyer. If they don't have it offered at that price in the store but their flyer online says it is, make sure you go to the CS counter and ask why.

That sale also includes Dr. Pepper two liter products. FL always has the Dr. Pepper on sale when their Coke is on sale, even though it's not made by Coke. FL is the only one that does that for some reason.

  • Betty Freitag Apr 15, 2010

I noticed you posted Food Lion this week as having coke products at .89 but today they were posted at 4/$5.00. Maybe the store I shop doesn't have the prices some of the other Food Lion stores carry. Just wondering! Enjoy saving money. Thanks for all your tips!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 14, 2010

unc - you did not miss the link. I believe I missed my brain when I posted the list today! I forgot 3 links including the recipe and the olive oil. They are all added to the box in the post above. Enjoy!

  • unc85vw Apr 14, 2010

Did I miss the link for Garlic Roasted Chicken Leg Quarters Recipe?

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 14, 2010

Hi interiors - thanks for your interest in taking a workshop! I am adding workshops to my schedule all the time so I would suggest you check back every few weeks to see if there is a Saturday class that works for you. Here is the link to the schedule:

    http://www.smartspendingresources.com/workshops.html

I do have a number of evening weekday classes coming up and I will be adding some Saturday classes to my summer schedule soon.

Between the Southern Women's Show, WRAL Wellness Weekend, Memorial Day weekend and my daughter's soccer games, there are just no Saturdays left in April or May for me to teach! You may want to consider my workshop DVD as an alternative if you can't make an evening class. You can find more info about it here:

    http://www.smartspendingresources.com/DVD.html

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Faye
