How much can you save per hour clipping coupons?

Thanks to Sherri for sending me the link to an article about how much you can save per hour by clipping coupons.  The final calculation was $86.40 per hour! That's a lot of money for clipping coupons in your PJ's while watching your favorite TV show each week! Scissors anyone?!

Thanks for your comments, J and Nancy! It is so true - much easier to save money.

j3434, me too :) I get two Sunday papers now, it's wonderful! AND all during 2010, there are only 7 Sundays where there will be no inserts, so it's hard to argue that as well.

agreed. that reminds me...i've been taking advantage lately of the n&o's great deals. i just started a new deal where i pay only $1.06 for sunday-only delivery. one doubled 55 cent coupon, and it's paid for!

Saving money takes less work than earning it :)

How easy it is now to gather coupons (internet and delivered newspaper inserts).

Sit in the comfort of home, clipping while dinner is cooking or watching a show on TV. Filing quickly and then waiting for the sale ads to show up :)

I would rather 'work' at saving than have to make that kind of money per hour working for someone else.

it's a lot of time, but it's essentially free money. i am grateful i've made the commitment (even if i slack sometimes!) when i see the savings and know my kitchen is stocked for my family. thanks for the link! really cool article.
