Faye...I went back for the Easter candy deal at CVS tonight because it's two per household and I had a coupon from for $2 off of 3 bags, to make the deal sweeter (no pun intended). And again, my $3 ECB didn't print for it, but I waited for the manager to come and he printed it manually for me.

Did anyone else have a problem with Walgreens with the Reach Toothbrushes 2-pack that were on sale? I used the Walgreen coupon, but then the Garner store register would not accept my manufacturer's coupons. Should I have used the MQ's first?

Glad the ECB issue was resolved. Sorry the instasaves are not working for you. Mine have all come off, thankfully. But I also print out the list of instasave coupons I have added to my card and bring it with me when I shop, just in case. Youa re not the only one who has said they had trouble with the instasaves not coming off. Good luck on round 2!

Faye...I went back to the store today and was able to use the card scanner to print my $3 ECB, so they did indeed fix it for me. Wooohooo. But I'm having to move on to another fight this week with Lowes over my Instasaves not coming off...why can't everyone get it together???? This is two weeks in a row on that one. I have learned to print my Instasave list and take it with me, and the customer service rep I talked to today at corporate said, "You're a smart woman! You must have learned from experience!"

  • KLW Mar 9, 2010

Faye...when I called them yesterday, the CS rep said that she would look into it today and call me if there was a problem but if I didn't hear from her, she was able to fix it. I asked if I would be able to see it fixed online, since you can see your ECBs, and she said no, I'd have to go to the store and print it in a couple of days. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I didn't hear from them today so I will go tomorrow to see if I can print it in the store. What a hassle. The odd part is that when I looked at my account yesterday it showed ONE ECB for the candy promotion, not the three, and of course even the one didn't print.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Mar 9, 2010

Karen, your ECB's should have printed at the register for the Easter candy. My guess is that whatever you bought was not coded into the system as counting towards the ECB promo even if it was clearly Easter candy. They should have manually printed the ECB for you at the register, which they can easily do. Make sure you follow uo with corporate and they should give you a $3 ECB which will print the next time you shop there. Based on yoru experience and thosig's experience, I would say the problem is with the way they have decided which candy qualifies. Let us know what corporate tells you!

  • KLW Mar 9, 2010

I had the same problem with the Easter candy at CVS, but when it didn't print I assumed that the $3 ECB was added to your account for the quarterly distribution. When it didn't show in my account online, I called the 1-800 number yesterday and they're supposed to be looking into it today...who knows.

I have another CVS coupon issue. I bought 2 stayfree pads - received $4 in ECB. Bought 5 bags of easter candy. Used 2 $1 coupons. (Beware the Nestle isn't ringing up correctly if you buy 2). Didn't get my $3 ECB because instead of going by the regular price (before coupons) my subtotal was only $8.00 (I used the $4 ECB from the previous transaction). The lady that rang it up was nice enough to enter the code in the ad and the ECB printed. She said it seemed strange too, since it's normally on the regular price not minus any coupons or discounts.
At Walgreens - bought the minimum for the P&G RR and used a ton of coupons - still got the RR even though techinically I didn't spend the min. amount.

I think it happens every where. Some people want to help as much as they can and others roll there eyes when they see all the coupons. I have never heard as many negative comments as I have since I started couponing.
As far as the store, I think have pretty much narrowed down what days to go and what cashier to go to, and hope they are in a good mood. I am in the same store all the time, so I have gotten to know a couple of them. You get more with honey than you do with vinegar. I have had more good experiences than bad there. So for now, I will continue!

"I got another coupon story. I won't say the name of the store, but it starts with I "used" to many item coupons, so it would not give me my RR coupon."/tot

That happened to me at a Walgreens store also, the one at Sunset Lake and Holly Springs Rd, won't go back there again, as the manager explained to me that if I used a MQ on an item that was supposed to get a RR, it won't work.

Yet, the Walgreens 5 miles at the opposite end of Sunset Lake Road in Fuquay will do it no problem. Apparently complaining to corporate just sends it back to the local store manager, who can set policy as they please :(

You can guess where I never choose to go now :) I have my favorite Walgreens and I won't mess with others now.
