Faye's super doubles total

Posted January 8, 2010

Here is my total from the Harris Teeter Super Doubles shop I did on Wednesday morning after I dropped the kids off at school.

Total before sales and coupons: $66.34

Total amount saved with sales and coupon: $65.93

Total amount paid: 41 cents!

% saved: 99%

I used a coupon that was super doubled for everything except the Stacy's (free coupon) and the Fiber One yogurt 4-packs (free coupon and BOGO coupon so 2 free). I also had a $4 Walgreens register reward that brought down the total further. HT takes manufacturer register Catalina coupons from competitors for a total amount off the order as long as they scan.

As you can see from the picture in the box above, I bought the following:

1 box Electrasol tabs BOGO with $2.50 coupon

2 containers Wet Ones (thee are great in the car for sticky child hands!)

1 Herbal Essences Shampoo

Stacy's Parmesan Garlic Pita Chips (had free coupon from friending them on Facebook)

2 Kings Hawaiian rolls 4-pack

3 Wholly Guacamole packages

3 Kahiki Egg Roll boxes

1 Gorton's shrimp

2 Fiber One 4 packs (had a BOGO coupon from a granola bar box)

1 Activia 4-pack

2 Oikos Yogurts

3 Chibani yogurts

1 J & J First Aid tape

How did you do on your super doubles adventures?

Perfect. That makes sense now that you say it. Thanks! That's great to keep in mind especially in case your coupons are about to expire and you don't really need anything from the competitors.

Hi j - HT will not accept the CVS ECB's because they are store coupons. They will accept the Walgreen's Register Rewards because they are manufacturer's coupons with a bar code that scans at the register. I have used them many times at HT's in Garner (401/ten-ten location) and Cary. They have told me they won't take the ECB's though. Lowe's Foods will also take $/$$ coupons (like $5 off a $25 purchase) from competitors like Food Lion and HT.

Do you have any experience with HT accepting CVS register rewards?

Great job on your savings stephkenner! Mighty impressive!

j3434 - We also love the No Yolks noodles and had it not been for couponing, I never would have tried them years ago. We always bought the Muellers because my mom had always bought that brand. Now I get the No Yolks for free or close to it all the time!

    Thanks for sharing everyone!

We are getting good deals. And in case anyone feels guilty for getting free stuff :), here's the an example of why it is good for the manufacturers and stores. My family may never have tried Special K bars if it weren't for the deal at HT this week. And now we are hooked. We'll still keep an eye out for good deals on those, but probably wouldn't wait for only Triples or Super Doubles to buy them again. Same with No Yolks...used to have them as a kid but had sorta forgotten about them until the good coupon deals. Now we almost panic if there isn't at least a bag on hand in the cabinet. Happy Last Couple Days of Super Doubles to everyone!

I bought $111.29 worth of groceries at Harris Teeter for $26.83. Thanks Faye & Savvy Dollar for showing me how to use my coupons to their effectiveness.
