If you are going to be in the Garner area on Saturday, September 22 around lunchtime, and you love BBQ, stop in at Mt. Zion UMC to help support a local young lady who has been very sick.  You'll get a tasty lunch and be able to check off the pay-it-forward box on your to-do list.

Taylor Woods, a 16 year old student at West Johnston High School in Johnston County, was diagnosed in March with a very rare disease called Endogenous Lipoid Pneumonia. It is an immune disorder that is basically making her body attack itself.  Since March, she has been out of the hospital for only about 6 weeks.  She is still in the hospital, on oxygen and has undergone a number of surgeries and procedures.  You can read all about her ordeal and the very interesting way she may have contracted this disease HERE.

The fundraiser on Saturday is to help her family pay for the mounting medical and everyday expenses including the very expensive parking fees at the hospital, gas to get back and forth from Johnston County to UNC and more.

I don't know Taylor personally, but I know her aunt and many other students who go to school with Taylor.  So, if you are going to be in Garner on Saturday, come join us for lunch! Here are the details of the fundraiser:

Date: Saturday, September 22

Time: 11:00 AM until they run out!

Location: Mt. Zion UMC, 15772 NC 50 North, Garner, North Carolina 27529

Activities: BBQ plates for $6 each, silent auction, bake sale
