30 products for 31 cents each at Harris Teeter!

Posted September 12, 2012

Today I bought 30 items and only paid 31 cents each for them including milk, eggs, cereal, pasta, cleaning supplies, crescents, granola bars and more! Read on to see what I bought and what coupons I used. Thank you Harris Teeter!

Here are the products I bought this morning (9/12) and my totals. As you can see, I did not just go for the freebies (although I did score some great ones!). Before the sale today, I already had more than enough Ken’s Marinade and hot sauce to last a while. I focused instead on those items we use frequently that were very good deals including milk, cereal, pasta, cleaning supplies and granola bars, among other things. And I love the eggs deal! There is definitely a breakfast egg casserole on the menu for this weekend.

For information on where I got the coupons listed below, click the Harris Teeter Super Doubles deals list link in the box above.

Items I bought:

2 Total cereal - $1 printable coupons = 2 for FREE

2 Kashi granola bars $2.99 – $1.50/1 printable coupons (I posted about these on August 14 from Vocalpoint.com) = 2 for FREE

2 Silk Fruit & Protein drinks, quart, $2 - $1 printables = 2 for FREE

4 Wacky Mac pasta spirals, BOGO for $1 - $1/2 printable coupons = 4 for FREE

2 Stayfree pads, $3.89 - $2 coupons = 2 for FREE

1 Idahoan roasted garlic mashed potatoes pouch, free with Catalina coupon for a free pouch that printed out last week

2 Pillsbury Crescents, $1.75 - $1/2 coupon and .50/2 HT ZVR e-vic coupon and .50/2 savingstar credit = .25 each

4 Lysol toilet bowl cleaner BOGO for $1.38 each - $1/2 coupons = .38 each

4 Honey Bunches or Oats cereal, BOGO for $1.77 - $1/2 coupons = .44 each

2 Smart Balance milk, ½ gallon, $3.99 - $1.50 coupon = .99 each

2 Pagoda egg rolls, $3 - $1 coupon = $1

3 HT eggs, .97 e-vic price

I also used a $2 Catalina register coupon from Lowes Foods and it doubled when scanned!

Total I paid:

Total before sales and coupons: $86.56

Total saved: $77.15

Total paid: $9.41 (89% savings)

I bought 30 items which averages out to 31 cents per item! For milk! And eggs! And Kashi granola bars!

Do you think that  Walmart would like to do a commercial comparing my Harris Teeter receipt to a Walmart receipt for those same items? I don't think so.

Thanks again to Harris Teeter for offering such a generous promotion!  And thanks to the Harris Teeter location at Hwy 401/Ten Ten Road (near Fuquay/Garner area) for being so nice to us couponers!

Thanks for the info. For us rookies and occasional couponers, listing the source of the coupons would be nice tho.

As much as I love HT, I do think they could do a better job with keeping these items in stock. I am told from someone that it is a problem with the distribution center and not a particular store necessarily. Still, they should know what items they are going to have on sale and be able to stock them accordingly. Other than that, I have no qualms with HT, and I love the super doubles and triples.

ZVR's are the e-vic coupons that load to your card from the HT website when you sign in to your account. You can pair an e-vic coupon with a paper coupon.

Hey, Faye...new at couponing would like to know what is ZVR's at Harris Teeter are??? Thanks

I didn't do nearly as good as Faye, but I do love HT! You do have to get there early during super doubles. When I left today, the cashier told me that I was up to $1300 saved this year! And, I shop at both Lowes and HT about equally. When I shopped at Walmart, I spent at least $600 a month on food and didn't get nearly the quality or quantity I get at HT and Lowes. Now, I probably spend about $400 a month.

    Faye,

Laughing my buns off at the hot sauce comment...'cause I KNOW!!! It's kind of a running joke around here...but, hey, free is free and hubby's co-workers get to be the benefactors...

I tried to focus on items that will best be used in our household as well, and some items I took a chance of waiting until my next shopping trip...if they're there, great; if not, rainchecks.

Faye, your total ROCKS! Thanks for the great list!

I'm a little new to couponing also. I just found out about the ZVR's yesterday and only had 2 or 3 of those. However, I was pleased because I got $101 worth of product for $53. That is almost half. It's not 89% but I was excited.
