As most of you know, I am very excited that we have a large family event all weekend and I am the host! This means that I'll be consumed with uber time-consuming host stuff through Sunday. :-)

I'll still be blogging a little, but I won't have time for the Just the Basics, Thursday Thoughts, Friday Freebies or Drug Store deals posts this week. I'll still post the Retail Coupons, Friday HT and Lowes deal posts and the daily Share the Deals post.  Kroger deals will be posted on Monday.

sarahcarucci, HT will accept competitor coupons from FL if they print from the Catalina machine at the register, and possibly from their in-store kiosk, but definitely not ones printed from your computer. I'm not sure if they will go as far to accept $ off produce, etc. Usually it's just $ off your total order, but YMMV.

I just started receiving the Food Lion weekly emails with coupons. Would HT accept the coupons such as $2 off meat or produce as competitior's coupons do you know? Thanks! :)

wow, thanks sarahoconnor. I didn't know FL had pharmacies. I checked their store locator...not one near me, but nice to know! Went to Sam's Club (not a member anymore, but you can still use their pharm)and had them filled...we do have ins. so wasn't too bad:)

While we're on the topic of the N & O. I wanted to give everyone a "heads up". If you subscribe to the N & O and choose not to renew your subscription, you have to call them to cancel. Simply not renewing the subscription is not enough. They will continue to deliver the paper, and charge you full price for each paper after the subscription runs out. To me this is a very sneaky way to over charge their customers, so I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this practice so that you don't fall victim to it.

smolder - yes, I get three Sunday papers and have had that happen - don't call the 800#, you're talking to somebody in some remote state and all they do if file a complaint, never follow up and it's very annoying.

What you need to do first and foremost, is call before noon on Sunday if you want THAT weeks missing paper and it's inserts delivered to you.

Call this number and ask them to contact your carrier and get the paper delivered that day - usually the regional manager of that route will either deliver it or make sure that you get your missing papers.

BJ's members, yesterday hubby and I went there and found a GREAT deal on CFL light bulbs, all wattages. 4-6 pack of bulbs for $3.99 or $4.99 (depending on brand). There is an instant rebate making them that cheap! It is a Progress Energy instant rebate and it comes right off at the register.

And there is no limit - we bought 5 packs so we're set for a long time on bulb needs.
