tikicat - probably not, although you can ask. Their policy is to match only exact sizes and since WM sells in individual ears and Aldi is packaged, they probably won't. But...you can always ask if you are there anyway.

YUM - avocados AND prawns - thanks for sharing your recipe nakabi!

Thanks Faye !

Since Aldi's corn is "packaged" will Wal-Mart price match ?? All I have seen at WM is loose ears still in shucks ( very good corn earlier this week - 30 cents an ear !) . Thanks Again for your help .

dkg0502 & alwaysluvnlife-the stuffed avacadoes are very easy to make. I usually make them as appetizers for get togethers since you can make them ahead of time. I don't have an exact recipe since I just throw things together (African are notorious for doing this), but basically it is: 2 large ripe avacadoes, about a kg of prawns cooked and chopped, 1/2 cup chopped celery/and onion, capers (3-4 tablespoon), 2.5-3 tablespoon light mayo, fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon mustard (I normally use djion), 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, S&P to taste. Cut your avacadoes in half, peel them, and remove the seed. Combine all the rest of the ingredients thoroughly and stuff avacado halves. Chill until ready.

Ddalmas - your avocado chicken salad recipe looks fabulous! I definitely need to make this. Thanks for sharing! And thanks for those much needed prayers. :-)

Wow ... OK, last try for the Avocado Chicken Salad ingredients w/proper spacing!

1 cup cooked chicken, diced

1 egg, hard boiled, diced

2 Tbsp diced red onion

1/4 cup diced celery or zucchini

1 avocado, ripe

1 lemon, juiced

salt to taste

Grrr; I have yet to figure out how keep line feeds when pasting here. Trying again with the ingredients list for the Avocado Chicken Salad:

1 cup cooked chicken, diced 1 egg, hard boiled, diced 2 Tbsp diced red onion 1/4 cup diced celery or zucchini 1 avocado, ripe 1 lemon, juiced salt to taste

Here's an Avocado Chicken Salad recipe that I love, where the mashed avocado (a healthy fat) actually replaces mayo:

Avocado Chicken Salad 1 cup cooked chicken, diced 1 egg, hard boiled, diced 2 Tbsp diced red onion 1/4 cup diced celery or zucchini 1 avocado, ripe 1 lemon, juiced salt to taste

Scoop avocado into a bowl and mash with a fork until creamy. Mix in lemon juice and a couple dashes of salt. Add diced foods to the bowl and mix until coated. You can eat it on bread, with chips or cr*ckers, or if staying gluten-free and Paleo put it on a large leaf of lettuce and wrap up to eat!

I apologize but I cannot now locate the source (think it was a blog site) to give appropriate credit for this yummy recipe.

Oh Faye, I 222nd the comments from many others, thanking you so much for all that you do for all of us to save! Prayers for you that you will be able to get the rest you need sometime this week before your big weekend!

tikicat - there were no details on the Aldi ad about the corn type or # of ears but last time there were 4 or 5 ears in the package.

Would someone report back on the type and number of ears in a package, please? Thanks!
