Back to school deals 7/22

Published: 2012-07-23 21:04:00

The office supply, drug stores, big box stores and more have some great school supply deals this week! Now is the time to stock up on the lowest prices of the year!

I’ll have a consolidated list for you each week until the great deals subside in about 8 weeks.

Some stores offer excellent deals but require a minimum purchase like $5. Some stores offer great deals after rebates. Most will only let you get a certain number of each good deal.

Teacher Discounts: Some stores will allow teachers with ID to get larger quantities, so ask if that is an option, if you are a teacher (including homeschoolers).

Please post if you find any other deals!

The following list is from Anna at YourRetailHelper.com. Her list is organized by product (backpacks, pencils, folders, etc).

Do you prefer a list by product type, like the one below, or a list by store, like I have been doing the last couple weeks?

Flying, I grabbed a TI-84 at Ed McKays for $55 a few months back (the teacher didn't know how to teach my kids on our TI-89 Titaniums, or our TI-86s, (yes, both PLURAL) so I had to buy YET ANOTHER calculator). Call and see if they have any in stock.

Otherwise, one of the ads this week had the TI-84 for $99. It wasn't one of the fancier ones, those are in another ad for $119, but $99 new is a decent price. If your kid is very math inclined, go with the better one or you may have to shell out another $100 and change in a few years. Trust me, that's why we have 86s AND 89s.

Ed McKay's is very close to me and a great idea I haven't thought of! Or I can use some Swagbucks towards Amazon...Thanks traciefowler! :)

FlyingUnderTheRadar - If you don't have to have a brand new TI-84, try the college bookstores like Ed McKay's. They should be able to tell you over the phone if they have it and save you a trip. Or, you can get one online through Amazon for a decent price with piece of mind that Amazon stands behind products.

Thanks Faye!!!

munecachina - a reader was looking for them last week as well and they were found at Target (Lynn Road) for $2.99 and Target at North Hills and at Office Max. One reader said she did not find them at Walmart or Target.

Thanks for eveyone's input. Looks like the list by store wins. I'll go back to it for next week.

I prefer the list by store. Thank you for the list in any format.

Does anyone know where I can find a Primary Journal? They have space on the top from drawings-are requested for K thru 2?

While I appreciate and will use the list however it is put together, I prefer the list by store as well.

Faye, Thanks for adding this timely list. While both have pros/cons, personally, I prefer the list by store. Since I am not near all of the stores, I would simply read the list for the stores I'd actually shop at. Again, thanks for all of your help in finding local bargains!
