Thank you ddalmas and Eagleland for your Aldi info!

  • Dr D Jul 19, 2012

Whoops, lost my lines separating the items on the last Aldi items when it posted, but the prices follow the item names.

Don't forget the $0.99/lb frozen turkey breast deal at Target this week! Faye blogged earlier this week about that deal. :-)

My favorite regular-priced produce purchase at Aldi is bananas, which are $0.44/lb every day. Typically these are smaller single serving sized bananas, unlike the XL 'nanas offered in 3# bags for $1.49 at BJ's.

Unless I find them at a better price elsewhere, I buy eggs at Aldi, which are $1.29 this week (sometimes they've had them for $1.19) for one dozen large.

These other regular prices are from memory, so others are welcome to correct me:

    large head of cauliflower $1.99
broccoli crowns (usually 2 lg or 3 med) $1.69
    English (seedless) cucumber $1.19
    1# baby carrots $0.99
    large avocado $0.89

  • Eagleland Jul 19, 2012

also how could I forget one of my hubby's favorite snacks - I picked up 3 bags of rekcrarc Jacks (spelled backward) on sale for .69 each and 2 large bags of onion snack rings on sale for .69 each (our sons love these).

  • Eagleland Jul 19, 2012

Produce from my receipt: Seedless watermelon 3.69, valencia oranges 2.49, 5 lb bag of baking potatoes .99, container of plums for 2.49, bag of bananas .92, cheeries 1.89, 2 lb bag of grapes 2.99 (I thought was decent deal and we were out of grapes). Other items I purchased that were on sale: ice cream cake 3.99, 18ct summer blast icy pops .89, 20 oz pkg of stuffed clams (1.5 g fat each), on sale for 1.99 - not tried them yet. I only eat seafood and no other meats so thought this was a good deal and the nutrition facts were in line with my needs; hot dog and hamburger buns .79 each.

Eagleland (or anyone else shopping Aldi this week)- Can you list the good produce prices you found? I don't live anywhere near an Aldi and won't be able to get there to verify prices.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Jul 19, 2012

    Thanks Eagleland!
