Reader needs help finding formula coupons

Posted July 11, 2012

One of our readers has asked about where to find coupons for baby formula. Can you help her out with suggestions?

Here is Jen's e-mail:

"My friend and her husband have 6 month old twin girls. They were born premature and rely on Similac each day for the girls to gain strength and weight. It is extremely expensive for them. I have searched online to no avail to find coupons for Similac. They offer one coupon when you sign up on their website, but I haven't found any others. Please let me know if you know of any coupon sites, or ways to obtain the "Expert Care-- Neo Sure-- Infant Formula with Iron (13.1 oz). Thank you so much."

I suggested she contact her pediatrician's office as well as the OB's office. Do they have formula coupons?

Similac will go on sale Sunday at Walgreen's. Price is $23.99 for 23.2 ounces. Don't know if that is a good buy or not.

I feel your friend's pain! My twins are now three, and I had to supplement with the high calorie formula for them. (Even after nursing, we would go through a can of the special formula in a day!!!). Personally, we used Enfamil, but maybe this will work for your friend too. I would call the company--Enfamil sent me several free cases throughout my girl's formula days. One case was a congratulations for having twins. Another case was for the pediatrician faxing them a paper verifying that I had twins. Enfamil also has a delivery program where you can order formula from them (w/free shipping) and they would give me discounts sometimes when I would call my order in instead of placing it online--I would ALWAYS ask if the company gave discounts or free stuff for multiples, because a lot of companies may.
I also had pregnant friends or new mothers sign up for the formula checks (most of them nursed) and they would give me the "checks" when they would get them. Good luck to them :)

That is so strange because several months ago, I signed up for their coupons also and I haven't received anything from them! My son is now 12 months old so if I do get anything I would be glad to forward them on.

I received lots of Similac rebate checks after signing up on their website as breastfeeding only. They even sent me a "breastfeeding support kit" aka big box of formula samples.

I forgot to add this...have your friend check into the TMOTT group. They offer family assistance for those needing it. Their website is http://www.tmott.org

This sounds so familiar because that was us about 12 years ago! Our pediatrician was so good to us and supplied us with a case as often as she could. Have them talk to their pediatrician. I also signed up for all the baby formula websites I could for coupons or samples. In fact I’ve been getting checks for formula from Similac (even though we have no baby). So make sure your friend has signed up on those websites! The last checks I received had several checks for $5.00 each off a can. Recently they sent a can of formula and I have no use for it. If they can use it they are welcomed to it. Just let me know (fouroakstwins@nc.rr.com).

When I signed up for the Similac coupons/info through their site, they sent me "checks" (coupons) for product. Seemed the more I redeemed them, the more frequently they were sent.

EBay also has a lot for sale.

Try the warehouse stores. I am a member at BJs, and they send out coupons monthly for a huge variety of their typical store offerings. I see baby-stuff coupons every month. I'm pretty sure I've seen coupons for Similac.
