Faye, that's a GREAT idea about the soft cooler! CREATIVE :)

I'm taking a cooler up to the mountains w/ some food...using the Deer Park small water bottles, freezing them, and surrounding the food/beverages with them. Then on our day hikes we'll put a few in the 'carry-along' cooler, where they'll slowly melt throughout the day, and it will be nice ice-cold water...refreshing! Also works great on the golf course!

I received a wonderful surprise in my mailbox today from P & G. A few weeks ago quite a few of us received some great coupons in the mail from Oral B but all the coupons were expired. I emailed P & G customer service to express my disappointment and today they sent me an apology letter along with a coupon for a free Oral B manual toothbrush (any), free Oral B floss (any), $1 off Crest whitening rinse (any) and $1 off Crest Toothpaste (any). Hopefully the others of you who received those expired coupons and contacted P & G will be getting these great coupons soon.

I shop mostly one in OXFORD ( very friendly cashiers - many have been with WM a long time before new store was built ) : Henderson is good too depending on the cashier( you will know quickly which ones are good - attitude & fingernails! Need I say more ??) and the crowd ( too many try to use the express when the have more items than they are supposed too - I counted 63 in one buggy the other day ; what can we do about that ? customer service just looks at you like you are speaking in a foreign language when you complain !!) My co-worker's cousin says the one in Durham on Glenn School Road is good about price matching too - but it seems to always be CROWDED & the traffic on 85 is a BEAR the times I could go .

I know there was a "campaign" to reqeust a store from HT - response was "too low a population density to justify the expense of building a store in that area at this time".

I love pricematching at Walmart. I have never been asked to show my ad. I tell them the price and they match it. Check your receipt though because I have had them accidentally key in the incorrect price just by a simple keyboard error. I shop at Walmart on Highway 42 in Clayton/Garner. I save so much this way that ever time the person behind me wants to know how I possibly paid so little for everything I bought. I LOVE that response! But I laugh too at the ad about beating HT prices. Nobody beats HT in my opinion when it comes to coupon shopping. But I am still able to save so much money pricematching mainly for produce at Walmart.

comprehendtheobvious - as jdouglas so nicely wrote, we weren't trying to be unhelpful. Sharing our opinions of stores helps us all to understand which ones are more coupon friendly than others. If your WM is great with coupons, that's wonderful. Post that info and let us know exactly which store.

For those of us who have an HT available and are willing to coupon, Walmart is usually not the best choice. We weren't harassing Walmart shoppers, only sharing our similar experiences. That's what this blog is for. Sorry if you were offended. I really don't believe anyone meant to be hurtful.

Flying - it is oppressive out there! I actually brought by small soft pack cooler with ice packs into Lowes Foods with me so I could put the ice cream in it before leaving the store. It worked - it was still frozen when I got home. The bagger thought it was hysterical! :-)

JMHO, but I don't think anyone meant to be unhelpful, and I don't think anyone was trying to bash those who do like to shop at Walmart. I think we were just sharing about our own Walmart shopping trips. My feeling is for each of us to do what works best for us individually. Comprehendtheobvious, I am genuinely glad that your experience has been so positive at the Walmart you shop in. Unfortunately, the experiences I personally have had at Walmart have not been good, thus my comments.

Can you share with us the store you shop at? Maybe it will provide some of us with a better result. :)

So sorry you're not closer to a Teeter...perhaps lobby to corporate to have them put one in your area? Where my parents live the only options are 'the Lion' and WM. I will have to say for the most part my few treks to the WM @ TTC have been positive (if nothing else, I get a good workout b/c that place is HUGE)...I am attached to my 'home Teeter', though, they make me feel like family.

Sooo, got to get back in the swing of deals/coupons. While I was gone, apparently someone helped themselves to my THREE weekly Sunday papers :( So I have no coupons from the past 5 weeks - ugh.

But soon enough I'll be back in the game.

Good to be home, even though I already miss my Dad - visited him every day while I was there.

A friend of mine surprised me no end by calling me during HT's sale on B2G3 free coke/dr pepper products and offered to snag some for me!! How sweet was that?? So I'll catch up with her tomorrow and get those :)

And soon our house will be torn up again, 31 windows being replaced any everything that isn't brick will be getting siding. Should start that next week - we don't want the guys working in this heat so we don't mind when they start. New roof before we left for NY...tis the year to do all the major work! At least outside LOL

I'll be reading to catch up on all the wheeling and dealing and try to get back in the groove :)
